Great looking car and I'm sure it will drive nicely but two problems for me:

1) For the money that interior looks incredibly average
2) The depreciation on this car will be almost unbelievable

Your money is without a doubt better spent on a 911 or even a Conti GT.

looks a bit under wheeled to me...

Tuners will have a field day with it though

Yours might be, but other people may prefer the BMW and don’t care about depreciation because this is a week’s wages to them. Or they already have both of the cars you mention and several more besides. Perspective is a wonderful thing...not everyone takes six figure sums very seriously biggrin

It still looks like a Ford Mustang from some angles, I'd take the Mustang and the change personally.
The Mustang looks better to me (exterior that is).

I thought this car looked great in pictures but after seeing a couple in the metal, they just aren't sexy or exciting to look at.

No it doesn’t... any car registered pretty much anywhere in Yorkshire will have a Y prefix, BMW or not, private car or not.
I'm very much with Chestrockwell here. Whenever I see a new BMW on a Y plate I also think BMW UK car, mostly as I don't live anywhere near Yorkshire & the entire BMW UK fleet is on Y plates. Whenever I see an older BMW on Yorkshire plates I think ex-BMW UK car.
I get that anyone from Yorkshire buying a new BMW will also get a Yorkshire plate, but I don't think they'll hang around my local BMW dealership/trade in their 6 month old cars there as much as they do.

Looks epic. No doubt they'll be £80-90k with demo miles within the year at which point they probably make more sense. I'd love to have the disposable cash to punt around in one.

A bit like how there used to be huge numbers of 90s BMWs on x123 xAN number plates, with AN being the old Reading area code and Bracknell being BMW UK HQ?

There's a BMW distribution center near Doncaster .

Given the ferocious depreciation of high end BMW products at the moment that will be a nice buy in 18 months old at £55k
Given the M5 is £50k cheaper and 2017 cars are still over £60k I suspect you are talking bks.

I quite like the 8 series - it looks better in the flesh than in pictures.

The price for this is eye watering and as mentioned, the depreciation will be utterly savage. I also agree that the interior isn't special enough at this price point and I think the detail in the seats is nasty.

I really like the look of that. As others have said, you're money is definitely safer elsewhere and the interior is very generic BMW. However, I imagine this being somewhat of a bargain in 4-6 years time if you look at generally what happens to the expensive BMW's over time.

This.
Concur.
Anyway, with that front it does not look 123k quid, imho.
Interior...standard BMW fare, I've sat in the standard 8-series, it felt like little space in the back seat.

Why is the price outrageous? This is not bread or water or medicine, this is a luxury toy.

BMW decided to charge that price, if you can't or won't afford it - don't buy it. Simples.

I think I'll wait for the £40k "discount" and 2.9% PCP deal.

Should be about 4 months time biggrin

in fact even with £40k "off" it would still be £30k too much for what it looks like !

I think it looks great. Purposeful and mean. Give it a few years time and everyone will start wannking over how great the design was.

North of £120k for a BMW. Let's face it, a 7 year old FF is going to be a better car for the money.

Ijest] I say thee nay [/jest]

Seriously, I know the market is ferocious with every brand grabbing any niche they can get and as much as i love BMW I can't get behind the cost of this.

I'm sure it goes like stink (3.2 0-60 isn't slow) but that's bordering on Porsche 911 money (as previously stated). If you've got the funds for both a Porker and this chances are you'd have the funds for a Bentley or whatever you damn well please smile

I'm guessing this is aimed squarely at the S Class Coupe but "sportier" market but I'm struggling to see anyone not going for the 911 at this price point.

Still seeing too much Ford Mustang.....
