Does look rather nice.

Best of British track car group test?

What about the Gardner Douglas T70 for this list? Similar type of car/budget, & British. I like them both, great to see them being built.

Is this the answer to the cheapest 1000 bhp/tonne thread ?

60 ish grand arent they ?
Um you are quite a bit out, the 1000bhp Ultima started at £95k (+ options) 5 years ago, and that was pre Evo, pre RS.

I would guess £150k for a properly built 1000bhp example.

I was blown away by the black Ultima GTR that was at the Goodwood FoS in 2017. This looks even better. If they could just spend 15 minutes and a few quid making the dashboard look a bit less like someone drew the buttons and dials on the thin end of a Cornflakes box, it's be pretty much perfect.

Sounds more plausible I guess, still good value for the performance but probably cheaper suicide methods available biggrin

I am Loving this!
Not sure about bags, doesn’t look like a weekend getaway car, would drop the nose on the first speed bump.

Looks way better that before. The front of the old one always looked a bit budget to me, ie it was designed to function well but lacked styling detail, new one much much better.

Well done Ultima!

Full car width 1780mm double element design in carbon fibre, designed with excellent rearward visibility. 9 different angle of attack adjustment positions starting at -2deg up to a maximum angle of +14degs. Curved carbon fibre wing end plates. Mounted on swan neck mounts which now transfer downforce directly to the chassis.

Yeah Halfords...

Nice to see a new car article with an almost universal Pistonheads thumbs up! Rare these days!

Big thumbs up from me too.... love all these small volume British sports cars.. you don't seem to hear much of Radical these days. Used to be in EVO mag almost every month a decade or so back....

Have always hankered after building one of these. Though If I were I'd be sticking in a Tesla powertrain (which looks quite simple in reality) leaving plenty of room for decent amount of batteries in the engine bay.

Ultima really need to turn this over to the magazines and motoring websites so we can learn more about it. Only ever seen a couple of Ultima articles in print.

Hopefully that’s why you’ll never build one

Have always been a big fan of these.
I really like the cosmetic improvements.
If they could now do an interior update i think they could be on to a winner.

What is wrong with this SIMPLE (looks/operation/maintenance) and PURPOSEFUL interior?

How do we think this would stack up against the Brabham that was on here the other day?

Really do like this.

Also: Have always wondered if there’s room for a(n even lighter) straight six or four banger starter model in the Ultima range. That would be ideal for me and also fits a gap in the current Sports Car market.

P.s. Does anyone have insight into lead times for a build and a kit at Ultima? And what kind of capacity is allowed for a low volume manufacturer?

Nah 80k will get you a 1200hp monster

Pack A is 22k with vat
Pack B is 21k with vat
Then there’s the options of carbon etc etc which is another boat load as the rear wing is 2k plus
Then the lt5 engine can be had for $17,000 then upgrades another £10k easily
