Using the original, literal sense of the word, it's a replica; that is, a duplicate copy of an original work by the original artist. However, using more modern definitions as applied specifically to cars, it's more of a continuation. It's definitely not an evocation, which is literally something that evokes the sense or appearance of something without having the substance or exactness of an original.
Being pedantic, this is surely a replica? The continuation cars are missing or unused chassis numbers from an original vintage production run. Hence there have been some unusual quantities of continuation cars. Aston has already built two continuation batches in the past so you can’t really use that justification. They’re just making as many “replicas” as they think they can sell.

There is/was a Sanction 2 Zagato for sale recently for less than 20% of that price. Handbuilt by Aston Martin in about 1990, sent to Zagato in Italy for coachwork, and fully road legal. They built four Sanction 2 cars at the time, and I believe a couple of Sanction 3 cars later on.
I think William Loughran has at one point, owned/sold most of them.

Don’t know why they’ve put it on Dunlop M sections, as it isn’t eligible for racing, where they are required, M’s have sod all grip (but are great fun to drive on) and aren’t legal on the road (sidewalls clearly marked not for road use).

A bespoke tyre of similar profile but modern construction would surely have been better for what the car will be used for?

Well all the other road legal classic cars worth 3 million never get driven so no difference. Personally I find the idea pointless

They all do "naff" apart from Bristol ... and they went bust.
May not be a naff brand, but it certainly made some naff cars at the end of its life! And not sure it really carries quite the heritage of the others mentioned, recognising they did race (or rather their engines did) and recognising they made some interesting cars.
