I had one for five years. It was a Non WRC model. Aside from the mentioned Fig 8, banana arms and lower arms the car was flipping ace. With only an exhaust and filter it was making nearly 295bhp at 6250rpm. I did a few track days on it and got driven hard. Never complained. Even on the stock brakes and pads I managed three track days in as many months before Nurburgring GP track finally killed the discs-they were tired oem ones from when imported.

The engine was a peach. It revved up to it's redline without any drama and was quick to get there still making power up high. Yamaha had tweaked the cylinder head and block for all ST205's. I cried when I sold mine. Wish I had kept it.....

Really like these.they were designed and built with one thing in mind,to win the WRC for Toyota, spectated at various WRC events back in the day and they were always mighty quick in the right hands,as a few have already said compared to stuff like Intergrales,RS Cosworths etc currently undervalued but that will change in the future,if you have a good one, hang on to it!

It is a shame Toyota got caught cheating would have been nice to have seen the development of it and a special edition like the previous Carlos Sainz version.

At least the 185s smashed it 4 years out of 5 before they ballsed it up with the 205. Would have been interesting to see the 205 perform on the dirt without the turbo mod as it probably would have done well anyway!

The 205s only raced a handful of times before being caught out, the 185s prior were legitimately winning many races though thumbup

Yes I remember now, they got caught cheatingnonosomething to do with the size of the turbo inlets? teams would do anything to gain an edge back in the good old days! a shame really as they were a very competent rally machine..

Apparently the most sophisticated cheat device ever in racing! They spaced out the turbo inlet or something internally so it couldnt be spotted. Also the WRC got wind because on the Toyota drivers said in an interview he was amazed how much power the car was delivering - if the driver says that no wonder they investigated more thoroughly!

Hilarious, was literally about to write the same thing as the first post. I am one of the biggest gt4 lovers but it’s been up for sale for years and you can get them much cheaper. I’m all for people getting good prices for cars but some people are pushing these cars out of reach of normal people who will actually drive them!

Same with a 40k Tommi mak in red! But 15k for a white one!

And 100k for a 22b.. have a word!

Yes, but they don’t make them anymore.

I don’t even think it’s a case of the asking price. Just what one can afford at any given moment? Nothing stays the same either.

I totally get that prices go up but the last 5 years has been mental. companies are driving jap car prices through the roof. I’d like one again some day but they will be well out of reach by then and kept inside a heat controlled garage never to see the light of day or heaven forbid.. a rainy day!

A well sorted one of these would give a manual Tt supra some real trouble around a track and pretty much any B road. I like Supras too but it’s all about the Celica for me. All I’m saying is that the world has gone a bit mad.
