The case is a bolt on shoulder stock for the pistol. Not sure about the butter knife.

£6.2m for two "continuation" Astons that you can't drive on the road or trackdays, or £5m for this which you can do what you like with? I know where my lottery money would go!

Nick Mee once told me that the Goldfinger Astons were actually modified DB4 GTs because the DB5 wasn’t ready in time for filming. I guess this one is indeed a 5 as it was built afterwards. Perhaps some old chap at Aston will come along and let us know.

Nice car.
I understood the original car was a DB4 Series V (not a SWB GT) for the reason you quoted.

So has anyone on here got THE original film scenes Aston DB5 stashed away somewhere? It's not been seen in public since it was nicked in 1997.
I heard it suggested that it was dropped out of the back of small cargo plane into the sea. in order for the owner to pick up the insurance money....allegedly

It has featured in all Daniel Craig Bond films except Quantum of Solace.

That wouldn't have worked so well with Bond's S1 Esprit though...

I guess no-one really knows what happened, but why would you go to all the risk and complication of an insurance fraud? It would have involved paying numerous people to keep quiet. It's arguably the most famous car in the world, so someone would happily have bought it for a big sum. Even in 1997, it was a very valuable car and Pierce Brosnan had just returned to a Silver Birch DB5 in Goldeneye, so it was very much in the public's eye.

Maybe it was chopped up into little pieces and buried in the garden à la Lord Brockett?

Most people think it was stolen to order and now resides in some oligarch's lair, possibly in the Middle East. Maybe Blofeld's got it?

THAT is how you sell a 007 Aston, with guns and all. Hopefully there is a bottle of champagne in the cooler and a suit/shirt change in the trunk as well.

£5m for this, and perhaps the continued profitability of KFC, is evidence of the ultimate stupidity of humanity.
The fact that for some people 5 mill is very much pocket change and they could drop it on a historical car makes them stupid?

How much for the Jonny English Aston (with added value as Natalie Imbruglia sat on the passenger seat cloud9 )
