So true. I'm not a fan of the looks, but neither am I going to judge or look down on the choices others choose to make. Live and let live. I'm sure he thinks your 'executive' BMW 320D with 'M' badge is a bit rubbish too... PaulJC84 said:
I quite like the wheels. But yeah looks are subjective. These remind me of the old OZ chrono.
They are doing a super touring range which are meant to be similar to the wheels used back on the 90/00s touring cars.
There is a multispoke option which look like TSW imola wheels as well.
I like them too. They remind me of "proper" (ie actually light) alloys from the 90's. I actually prefer them to some of the (to my eyes) fussy wheels you see on GTI's & R's these days. I particularly like the fact that they have a pronounced rim. Like wheels always used to have. They are doing a super touring range which are meant to be similar to the wheels used back on the 90/00s touring cars.

Similarly, I don't mind the white paint and aftermarket decals. I'd usually run a mile from all three things but for some reason like the combo.
My wife would probably hate it though.

I do like those wheels.
The ubiquitous Golf R on oem Cadiz alloys - now there is an absolute travesty of a wheel.
19” Pretoria’s however are much nicer. The ubiquitous Golf R on oem Cadiz alloys - now there is an absolute travesty of a wheel.
The Cadiz wheels look very bling to me. As do the Austins. Too shiny and too styled.
The usual PH misery in here then
I'm not 100% sold on the wheels on this car, but I can see why they fitted them. It stands out and, as it's a demo car, it's not a bad thing for it to stand out from others.
As for this "why bother going to mountune when so-and-so already do it" - what's wrong with having some choice? Yes, other people have produced bits for the Golf, but mountune are well-respected and have plenty of experience, so isn't it good that people can now buy bits from them too?
I'd like to try a modified R. I found the standard car a bit detached. It wasn't very engaging and left me a bit cold. It would be interesting to see what it was like with some minor upgrades. I don't know if they necessarily need more power, but something to make the chassis feel a bit more focused and a bit of extra noise from the engine could make one a much more interesting prospect.

The wheels look great I reckon. I don't usually care for Golfs but it's hard to dislike a ballistic sleeper hatch.
