RE: Guy Martin does 100mph in a JCB
Discussion
I ,for one, am glad that almost pointless things like this still get done .
I have witnessed the original Ford Transit Supervan .
The worlds fastest fire tender , the XJ12 that attended Richard Noble on his record runs and was then gifted to Silverstone.
The Leyland stunt truck that did laps of Silverstone on two wheels and did the TV adds .
Just pure for the heck of it things that blokes that gather in sheds and workshops think up .
It will be on TV on a Sunday night in the near future.

Did he have a licence??
I’d imagine. But seeing as it was done on a track, how does that matter anyway?

that thing looks pretty incapable of plowing fields. What's the requirement for a vehicle being a "tractor" in this record?
Or is it just anything that starts as a tractor and you can modify however you wish?
I tried looking this up but didn't want to sign up with Guinness to find out. Or is it just anything that starts as a tractor and you can modify however you wish?
Apparently the Top Gear record was "Fastest Tractor (modified)" which it clearly was.
but then there were many modifications done by Edd China to the "Fastest milkfloat" in that it had a V8 engine plonked in. But was still recognisable as a milkfloat
i suspect it does either need to be from the base vehicle of "Tractor" then and perhaps be capable of performing some tractor-like duties.
The recent article on the Honda lawnmower with the bike engine, that still had to be capable of cutting some grass to qualify for the record
