Indeed - they don't usual appeal to me but that one is rather lovely.
I remember this car (or one identical) being discussed on the forums around 15 years ago, as at the time it was the cheapest 996 turbo available (at around £26k) due to its undesirable (to most) colour scheme.

I've seen some nice 997.1s for sale there complete with exhaustive inspection and warranty for the first year. After that, you're on your own. I can't understand why if they are willing to fully inspect a car then issue a warranty when it's in stock, why can't they offer this service annually for existing owners, especially owners who purchased from them initially? "We don't offer that" is the only explanation I was given, hence I'm out.

Some background to justify that bold claim would be nice. Only heard great things about JZM personally!
Always found them excellent to deal with.

Because a 997.1 is getting on for 15 years old and I don't think it would really be viable for them to offer anything more from a financial point of view or am i misinterpreting your proposal?

"We don't ever fit pattern parts, for us it's either OEM or better,"

Eh? If it is not OEM it is a pattern part.

In the article Russ at JZM states ‘once you’ve bought from us there’s no need to go anywhere else’- er.....I beg to differ ....how about because the service at JZM is utter crap?

Unless you've been under a rock for 20 years, you're only allowed to give positive reviews of any company on PH. You'll never hear anything negative. Threads get shut down.

Hate to say this but of the price asset bubble of Porsches and Ferrari's et a were to pop due to another financial crisis, precipitated by an already inverted yield curve, then a lot of these companies would be finished.

Porsche's as nice as they are , are way too overpriced even for the the 997s.

It will be interesting to see how the next few years pan out. Ferrari Challenge Stradale for £60k anyone (in 2008) ?
Pretty much all of the specialists over the country have de-risked over the last year. Absolutely nobody is buying cars into stock at the moment and SOR is usually the only option if you do not want to sell privately.

Possibly you are.

JZM will take in a 15 year old car for stock, inspect it and warranty it ready for sale. But if you come to them with the same car as an existing owner and ask them to do the same, they refuse, even if you pay for the inspection (which of course you would). That's even if it's a car you purchased from them 12 months earlier. Their business model for such vehicles seems to be to take them back in px after a year and sell you another. No wonder they are doing so well if people fall for that st.

The storage facility looks perfect for the flippers that never actually take delivery of their GT3 / RS / GT2 / RS.....

What are their labour rates?

I appreciate cheapest indys are £60 + an hour and main dealers charge up to £150 an hour, where do these guys sit?

Maybe badly worded, could possibly be referring to aftermarket performance parts.

The estate agents of the Porsche world. All very shiny but not sure I would entirely trust them.

Their trade in figures for their own previously sold cars are comically low but they do seem to do a lot of things right, certainly is a nice place to spend an hour looking round their showroom.

Bought a 997.1 RS off this lot a few years back. Prior to collection apparently it had a new battery fittted as the old one wouldn’t hold charge. Shortly after collection it died and our local main dealer diagnosed it as effectively dead. They somehow worked out it was an old battery that had been replaced at Porsche Towcester , so JZM stuck a used, knackered battery in to save a couple hundred quid.
I then had a battle getting them to pay for a replacement and Russ, the “sales director” basically told me to suck it up. Eventually got Jonas involved and it was sorted.
It’s a small thing, but the principle of it and how it was handled means We’ll never buyanother car off them as we couldn’t trust them to do what is reasonable to expect e.g fit new parts when required!
