One of those cars that leaves me with a dopey grin on my face every time I see and hear one. Beautiful smile

Amazing cars that look stunning and sound fantastic - maybe I need to try one!

But I'd really prefer a colour rather than black - something that special needs to stand out IMHO.

Wife really wants to sell ours, it's fine 150 miles in 4 years so it's probably time.

On modern roads the handling sucks. The suspension geometry is awful.

The bottoms arm need relocating, that’s why some people have fabricated their own.

People will argue “it’s all fine”.. but against anything modern they’re pedestrian.

Only if you have a very very early one which were rubbish. Anything after 2001 with the revised geo and they’re sweet as a nut....especially with nitrons.

Either that, or you don’t know how to drive properly. laugh

The gearchange was as manly as a beach near Sydney, with the weight and heft of a work-out machine

Sadly, said beaches near Sydney are about as manly as a cashmere sweater and chinos these days.

TVRs are few and far between here in Ausland. I wish it wasn't case. They're demanding a premium too.

Most Tuscans are better now than they were when they left the factory - almost 20 years of indepentants developing solutions for the oversights/shortcomings by TVR.

Lots to check on this before jumping in but on the face of it, i'd be inclined to agree that it's a bargain. You'd struggle to get another car that is as engaging, fast and eventful as this one, for £18k... Short of caterhams and such, which aren't half as practical.

I suspect he meant the actual Manly Beach. Lovely part of the world.

Lovely car too, get it checked over properly and no bravery required for that money. Mind you, not so long ago "that money" was the going rate for a reasonable one that hadn't been bent. I imagine if they ever get round to releasing the new Griff prices of this generation of Tuscan will only go one way.

I had a 17k mile Tuscan S about 8 years ago. The best thrill from any car I’ve driven. Felt and sounded fast at all speeds, so you didn’t have to drive like a nutter. When you did though, Jesus it was fast, very very fast. I remember the steering rack being so quick. If you sneezed, you’d be off in a ditch somewhere. I’ve had a few tvrs and other things but this was the one that got away 😟. Bought it for £21k back then from Tony Gilberts. Got a few problems sorted out at trackvroad at the sum of £1k and at the last minute, 5 months after purchase, my new mortgage company asked for more deposit. The car had to go. Quick sale for £17k. Makes me sick when I see them now. It was very clean and had very low miles. You can still tell I’m bitter at that mortgage company 🙄

I guessing they are all sorted now as the few I've been in/driven have all been fine, especially when pushed.

Surely as a cat C this isn't a risk, but instead a car saved from the scrappies?

Good choice on Tuscan. I bought a T350 9 years and it’s the longest keeper by a massive margin previously cars have only lasted 3 years before getting bored.

It been very reliable. Well until yesterday and I did have an issue which nearly left me stranded. But it limped home. Electrical issue due to heat. Just needs fixing now.

Looks like a complete steal, as has been said, the cat c thing will stunt it's value.... but that's only an issue when you come to sell. And hey, if you got it that cheap in the first place....

I love mine to bits, and don't think I will ever sell it. Nothing under £70k comes close to the thrills, drama and sense of occasion.

Note of caution;- If it's a 2003 model, wont it still be in the dodgy engine period, & low miles irrelevant, as faults happen up to the 30k mark?

Need a good aftermarket warranty which includes 'wear & tear items'.

I’ve just not had the time, my daily is a Mustang and as I only have a single garage the Tuscan stays at my parents. It’s not been an intentional decision and every year I say I’ll use it more.

How can you say otherwise unmemorable John Travolta action flick Swordfish

Excuse me but I think Swordfish is very mammorable owing to Holly Berry
