"worlds fastest SOFT-TOP" wink

Seen a few of these near work (Gaydon). They look and sound incredible, they're also huge, and look properly imposing in prototype Matte Black. 300k is a lot of money but this has a lot of want factor so should be a nice earner for the shareholders.

Was just about to place my order, then i realised i wouldn't be able to ready the tiny Sat Nav when the roof is down because of the silly angle it pops up at.

Skoda Roomster it is then...

Would I spec it in that colour? No.

The wheels would have to go too as I'm not a fan of them and they remind me of these too much:-

As for everything else though? Yes please!

Ha ha, we have to whinge about something, especially when most of us will never experience or even see one in the wild.

Saying it's pretty and really, really fast is somewhat trivial too.

Lovely looking car but at 300k ( holy moly!) the interior is pretty bland tbh, the new Bentley is way ahead in that dept. These will absolutely dump money tho 50k PA for the first 3 yrs more than likely if you spec as above...you have to be seriously rich and or silly to rinse that much cash on something like this.

Give it a rest will you. If you don't like reading it frig off somewhere else another article. Pretty much sick to death of all the moaners on here.

If you can do any better, try applying for the job. And let everyone critique your work.

I'd take a Corvette ZR1, more power, more torque and 1/3 of the price.

When the traction and stability control systems are disabled by an ape for the purposes of light entertainment, yes. It has over 700 horsepower going to only two very wide tyres, not great in standing water.

300 grand for that... and it doesn't even look like an Aston Martin, it looks like a Jaguar F-Type

Also, what's going on with the seeming imperfections in the paint around the Superleggera lettering? I only scanned the piece so it might mention it.
My guess would be paint protection film?
It's PH's atrocious image quality problems.

iirc they turned the traction control back on and tried again and it still kept losing traction where the other two were fine.

Totally different from my current garage and my usual choice of car but I really like this.

In one of the nice Aston green shades or black I'd think I'd have one.

Agreed. Romans have a gorgeous all black DBS (not the Volante) for sale at the moment which looks amazing. That said it's hard to disagree with the criticisms made of the interior. For that kind of dosh they should be doing better.

It has 4 wheels, and an engine up front, with the proportions of a coupe - to a degree most cars like that will have a similar silhouette as a result. That's where the similarities end. I don't know of many F-Types that could keep pace with an 812SF on the road. It's little spoken of, but the usable torque of the DBS is what makes it such a superb GT car, unlike others where the bulk of their power comes in toward the red line.

The handling is also superb; in a similar fashion to the last gen cars, the Vanquish handled more like a Vantage than a DB9, and it's the same this time around. The DBSS handles like a slightly bigger Vantage as opposed to a launch edition DB11. Staggering performance, I didn't want to give the key back.

I'm only going off the in car footage where the DSC off symbol can been seen in most shots. If there is some behind the scenes chat about it then I'd like to see that, it certainly wasn't discussed in the show at all. Rather put me off the series that they put entertainment over the reputation of a car, although I'm not sure what I was expecting...

How much ?????????????????? OMG

Over priced when you consider what a new Bentley continental cost.

And that steering wheel is what they shut the valve off with at Chernobyl.

The Conti GT goes head to head with the DB11 AMR. The DBSS goes head to head with the Ferrari 812. Bearing in mind the DBSS coupe with all the toys costs the same as an 812 before any toys are added (about £260k), and given the performance on offer, it's actually quite good value.

Alternatives to the DBSS in the hyper GT sector that are offered as a convertible?

The steering wheel makes sense when you drive it (much like the One-77 derived wheel in my Vanquish that I'm told by everyone who's never driven one, that it's st and from an Austin Allegro).

The front grill just doesn't work, and is a problem for all Aston's now and in the future when it comes to propping up the exclusivity of the second hand market for the next decade. The side profile looks like a Jag roadster and the back just looks squashed.

I'm a massive Aston fan and advocate, but the design language is in a terrible place right now. I appreciate car designers can often be well ahead of the curve in terms of iconography, but I don't see how I am going to catch up with the current trend frown

Hope it sells in thousands through smile to global rich types, as its all good for UK automotive jobs in our car industry smile
