Mazda RX8, Caparo T1 ?
AM Valkyrie's N/A V12 is ~153bhp/l. Caparo T1's is 164bhp/l.

Basically the part of the article about this car having the higest specific ourput NA engine in a road car has been debunked several times.

Eh? Plenty of n/a cars have had >345bhp. Or am I missing something?
Name another naturally aspirated engine that makes 138bhp / litre (or more).
Ok, I didn't realise 'specific' meant per litre.
Hasn’t the new A45 got over 400bhp, making that 200bhp/litre? Which is more than the Senna.

It also has a turbocharger, which makes it not "naturally aspirated".

Wow, this thread.

FWIW as good as the mono looks in pictures it looks even better in the flesh, so tiny and taut, absolutely love it.

I absolutely love this but when by bike has 675bhp per tonne and a specific output of 143.5bhp per litre NA (and it's not even anywhere near as powerful as some bikes) and it cost, new, 1/20th of the BAC the stats don't come across as impressive as they might. And it can carry as many passengers wink

For a car, however, it is indeed an abolute weapon and I want one.

To be fair when you perch a 100kg power ranger on the bike it will drop to a pathetic 460ish bhp/tonne but the mono will only drop to a more manly 530 ish wink

Is 100kgs your weight? Keep off the pies my friend.

Seriously though, we all know cars and bikes get compared in ways they shouldn't at times but when it comes to tech I think they can. I'm fortunate enough to love and own both so when I comment on bikes vs cars I'm not being a troll fanboy. It's just unfortunate some people like to take a Clarksonesque view towards bikers.

We're all petrolheads at the end of the day. Peace.

Looks great. Nice to see a bit of rubber on show rather than rolling on thirties with painted-on tyres.

Bikes surely make their power through insane RPM? Still valid of course, but not suited to road car applications where far more torque is needed.

Er, I thought my post was obviously in jest. That said if we're being serious when a car and driver has a power to weight in the same league as a litre class bike you know it's going to be absolutely epic.

Not a bad thread. Just a lazy and ill-informed journalist who quotes the publicity release without questioning it. Again.

Very nice, but three times the price of an F3 car which is surely its closest competitor?

How many F3 cars are road legal?

Or even allowed on track days. Don't most explicitly exclude open-wheelers?

Test days and/or competition I would guess.
