Unfortunately Zagato seem to be good at taking decent cars and making them just a bit st.
Is this made by Zagato? I thought these modern Zagato cars were designed and made in-house by Aston Martin with simply some "design guidance" by Zagato. Correct, the last Aston to be actually made by Zagato in Italy was the DB7 Zagato and the DB7 AR1

These newer cars have the bodies built in Coventry.

On the cricket pitch at FoS this weekend, there was a display of Bentleys. This included a 2006 Zagato-bodied Continental. Apparently it cost £500k and only the headlights were retained externally.
I couldn't even bring myself to photograph it!!

Good job I did then :-)
Love this car

Plenty of people slagging off Aston Martin for building very exclusive (overpriced) limited editions which are unaffordable for the masses and impossible to buy unless your name is on the exclusive list; I see no difference between this and what Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini. Pagani, McLaren etc. have been doing for years. If it's profitable and enables them to build their day-to-day vehicles then why should anyone really care? How many of us mere mortals would do the same if we could afford it?
Personally I think the side profile and rear three-quarter view are lovely. That grille however.....

There is nothing wrong with exploiting this niche area BUT if you end up basic your business on “special projects” rather than the core range, then you are hurting the brand more than you are adding to its exclusiveness. With Porsche and Ferrari these special projects are a real exception and not as with Aston where they seem to churn our a special project every other week. For me personally this smacks of desperation. If you constantly have to respond to peoples special wishes you have to ask your self the question whether you are getting the basic design right or merely cannibalising on your (past) brand strength. Personally I think the side profile and rear three-quarter view are lovely. That grille however.....
