Is that reference to shmee or his acolytes??
Never has such a inconsequential man had so much "influence"
Was originally for the “this new corvette won’t be any good despite me knowing sod all about cars and having a boring garage myself” chap.Never has such a inconsequential man had so much "influence"
But can be extended to the “this is so EPIC!!!” Shmee too

For gods sake will they just reveal the bloody thing already!..it’s between this and the Land Rover defender who has more staged “spy shots” and faux marketing leaks!
No competition there. LR wins!! I might be awake at 0330 and if I am I will have a look at the new Corvette. At least Corvette have given us a date for the reveal. LR can't even manage that. I am not expecting this to be as good as the European Competition (Mclaren and the prancing horse), but I suspect it will be very close. Interior quality on the Corvettes has alsways looked to be behind the competion and in fact it looks worse than a mid range Audi let alone a Supercar and I'm talking Audis that are 5 years old!
Also, I don't care what Schmee says.

Over at Autocar, they are reporting that the front-engined C7 Corvette will be sold simultaneously alongside the new C8, in an article published two days ago (see screen shots below).
This is an astonishing claim, as other titles have already written about the end of the C7:
Corvette C7 production to end summer 2019, won’t be sold alongside C8

The Last Front-Engined Chevrolet C7 Corvette Just Sold for $2,700,000

I'm going to assume that this is an oversight and not the result of privileged information possessed only by the team at Autocar.

Is this authentic?
I don't think so; the "arm" of buttons appears to be too close to the passenger.
This photo was posted to Twitter, apparently by somebody, or via somebody, who has, in the past, been a reliable source of C8 information.

If it's real, it's a silly amount of buttons on one strip, and an iPad stuck to the dash touchscreen too!

Having just watched the launch, I am now.. for the first time... excited about the Corvette.
What a tremendous design.
Overall things that struck me:
0-60 in under 3 seconds
Comes in RHD (I’m in the US so not a concern, but great news all the same)
Naturally Aspirated V8 when it would have been easy to go turbo charged
Cool tech, love the GPS based nose lift
Nice looking materials / cabin.
Starts at $60k.. which is astonishing.
I think I’m going to wait until the convertible arrives, but I am very excited about the prospect of this.
Count me in!

Think it looks good, amazed at the 0-60 claim of under 3 sec for a 495 bhp car, doesn’t most stuff need over 600 to pull that off ?
And that’s the base model !
That V8 probably allows it to reach 60mph in first gear. It's mid engined and over tyred so traction won't be an issue. And that’s the base model !
And they are probably being a tad reserved about its power figures.
Fussy & generic - as someone said a while back it looks like something out of GTA.
That interior's hideous, button bar's one of the worst pieces of design I've seen for a longtime.
Stats look good though.
Hopefully the race version might look better, suppose unlikely it'll sound as cool as the current one though.
Much prefer C6/C7, 'Vette's are front engine RWD.
