R12 OMX on a fairly recent (last 3 years shape) Transit near J4 of the M3 that was liveried up for a Motorcross related business.

Naturally it was re-spaced to read R 12O MX

If you stick with the facts then there's no need to read a single page or to form any sort of opinion about whether to post or not.

Illegal or illiterate are the actual facts to attend too, because of course using that criteria only a rabid idiot or weapons grade Chav whose got one themself would argue with you so if any number plate is either - or very possibly both - then it belongs in here.
Here we go again Steve.... the thread title is 'crappy' plates, which is subjective. If the title were 'illegal' or 'illiterate' plates then of course you would be right. But the zeal with which you accuse anyone who has a bit of fun with numbers, letters and spacing of being a 'rabid idiot' or a 'weapons grade chav' makes you sound like a bigoted, self-righteous tt, which I'm sure you're not but you appear intent on trying to be.

I thought it was just because they wanted the MX to stand out (due to the business). I've since googled R 120 MX, and evidently there's a bike called a "Super Stomp 120 R MX" which i assume they sell / sold / maintain if they're in that line of work.

I don't make the rules though.

But I do regard anybody who permits their aspirations and egotistical desire to create an impression by faffing about numbers and letters and spacing to in order pretend it's something "better" than it really is because they think they're somehow entitled to ignore the rules with nothing but contempt.

Sure, break the rules and steal food for a starving person or medicine for somebody seriously ill if you have too - but a number plate? nono

It should be remembered that the purpose of the plate is identification. “I think I was run over by what looked like SQAUSH U but might have been SG60 SHU subjected to fun with the numbers letters and spacing with screw heads in the G, S and 0 officer”, doesn’t really promote identification does it! laugh

This reminds me of a dreadful one at my old workplace. I wish I could remember what it was now. A mate and I used to like looking for number plates etc, spotting good ones, and he insisted that said plate was great as it spelled Steve or something like that. The trouble was, it looked nothing like the word Steve. It wasn't just using 3s for the Es, for example - even if the numbers were replaced with the letters they were supposed to represent it wouldn't have been close to Steve. It was absolutely tragic.

Of course it doesn't and among other reasons for having an illegal plate confusing and subverting quick identification has to be in the mix too.

Any barrister worth his seven grand a day will explain to the jury when the squashee goes to court that no such SQUASH U number plate exists so the evidence provided by the witness who saw the squashing clearly cannot be relied on.

It could be argued, very well I think, that the butchered, mis-spaced and odd-screwed plates do exactly that. They tell me that the owner of this vehicle is a nob and I will therefore expect them to drive like one. It may not be the message that the owner intended to convey but a message has been conveyed nonetheless.

Keep seeing the same C class coupe, it’s a c220d but he’s got AMG alloys on it that are Kerbed to high heaven with some nice white worm thrown it, sits with his seat tiled all the way down and back

Plate is 4D LLO4D XL

Not sure if he’s trying to talk about what a massive cock he is or about how fat he is.
