Looks stunning to me, apart from the exhausts...
I thought the rectangular exhausts, AMG models used to have, were a snug fit and a nice USP (if I'm not mistaken?)!
However saying that, they were fake and these new ones are real right? If so, please ignore the above comment...
The exhausts still aren't real and they have tiny/skinny pipes behind the big exhaust trims. I thought the rectangular exhausts, AMG models used to have, were a snug fit and a nice USP (if I'm not mistaken?)!

That engine bay... dizzyingly complex and tightly packed. Good luck with the repair bills on that in 3-5 years' time. My E90 M3 is bad enough and that's an 8 year old car now. "Oh we need to replace the thermostat. Part is £120, labour will be £1350".
Still, the car's pretty cool for what it is, and there's no denying that 420hp from 4 cylinders is impressive. Whether it'll make 100k miles without a rebuild is yet to be determined. But who cares, that's beyond the life of the lease anyway; the manner by which most of these things will hit the road.

The proportions of these models is wrong. I think it is down to too much over hang front AND rear.
Then too much bodywork above the wheel arches, even with HUGE 19/20 in alloys.
Why they cannot proportion it more like an old C- class from 80s / 90s and style it with its current flair, they always looked great to my eyes and size wise are probably similar.
Perhaps these small engines still require vast engine bays for anciliaries, cooling and crash protection, which drives front end bulbous proportions?
This exactly. Then too much bodywork above the wheel arches, even with HUGE 19/20 in alloys.

I suspect pedestrian safety regs is a major stumbling block to making anything handsome these days, especially big cars...Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
