Looks and sounds really good, but I'm guessing it's mid-engined, which is a pity.
Transverse mid-engined, by the looks of it. With such a cab-back design and big V6 over the rear axle I'd imagine it's going to have... interesting weight distribution.

These have been around a good year or so now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dnm_bAhA3o

I think they look great but if memory serves, they're pricey.

The only mention of performance seems to be sub-4 seconds 0-60mph? Seems quick enough to me (and also never the best indicator of how a car will be to actually drive IMH).
Whilst I fully accept 0-60 isn’t the only consideration it is an indicator of gearing. A roadster doesn’t need a 180mph top speed but should get to vmax pretty quickly. A suggestion of a 3.9 0-60 in a 750kg car with 330hp suggests the off the shelf gearbox might be too highly geared and that will have an effect on how it drives.

Surprisingly, yes, it's mid-rear engined.

I'm slightly disappointed actually, I'd have preferred it to be front-engined.

(not that I'm ever going to get to drive one)

I thought the exact same and agree.

Also echo the comments about seeing a unique offering that's available to us mere mortals and not just the 1% of the 1%. Hope they do well on this and can continue to offer some something special and sensible prices without going bust in the process.

it looks charming, has a reliable OEM engine, and, presumably, will not be priced outrageously

good for them

imo a more well-sorted package than the Spartan track car from Oz (PH thread here)

Lovely looking thing. Most of these low-volume sports cars suffers from at least one gopping design feature (borne of compromise) or angle, this looks well-resolved in practically every way.

The fact that the are able to sell it for $55k is even more amazing though. Makes stuff like the rebooted TVR look a bit ridiculous.

That looks spot on based on those pics, perfect blend of retro and modern.

100%. I much prefer reading about stuff like this than the latest £X-million hypercar. Looks great, too - lovely retro-styling, small and light-weight.

It's a shame Lotus couldn't target their EV ambitions this way instead of the Vajazzle, ir whatever it's called.
A decent sized battery would be 3/4 of the weight of this car and not cheap.

Lotus wouldn't do the kit car style spaceframe construction, so even with a petrol engine it would be more expensive than this, and everyone would whinge that it didn't cost 50p and a packet of crisps, and that the V6 didn't get 40 to the gallon.

It's a lovely looking thing, and I'm glad that someone makes it, but cheap and low tech are the opposite of where Lotus are trying to go.

The 0-60 time may be down to an additional gearchange

It apparently tops out at 135mph. Whether that's gearing limited or electronically is another question entirely.

The article really needs a link to their site, details are pretty comprehensive on there

I like that a lot.

Maybe the 1960's styling comes with 1960's aerodynamics? Their website just says "estimated" for top speed, mind.

I like these a lot! Particularly the hardtop - it’s very reminiscent of a Cobra Daytona. I bet that ‘Nissan-derived V6’ is a slightly breathed on VQ35HR. Shame it doesn’t specify anywhere.

Looks nice kind of like a combination of a cobra and a ferrari 250 tr

I don't think the 760kg weight is realistic though

Also being a startup company based in the middle east i would be reluctant to throw any money on a deposit as they have a habit of going no where.
