Looks cool to me.
Be interested to see the price and if it will be available in RHD and auto.
Jesus Christ. Think the whole point on a car like that is to be involved with it. Drive it. Interact with it.Be interested to see the price and if it will be available in RHD and auto.
Want to steer and use one foot, go buy an F-Type.
Looks like a Dutton, BTW.

If it’s $100k with options that make it driveable apart from a quick blat, I’m Dubious (see what I did there)
That is a big mark up on the base price. At that price you could get an Evora gt410.However, this looks jolly nice. Imagine getting Abbey Motorsport to turbo it....
Saw one of these at the Abu Dhabi GP last year and thought it was an upmarket Cobra replica, looked really good and would be awesome if we could get them over here:
Edit: European distributer is in France, charging 95,000 EUR for them, so itll be £100K here easy, and theyre reportedly only making 200

It's a lovely looking thing but I think it's success or lack thereof will come down to the details. For this sort of thing to sell it needs at least a degree of usability - does it have a stowable roof and is it viable to get in and out with the roof on? Does it have side windows? Does it have at least a small boot?
Proper coupe look with the roof:Not sure it’s the most practical arrangement. (Wouldn’t want to end up upside down)
It’s very much ‘my sort of thing’.

I don't want to be too vulgar with my double entendre... but just look at that a***. Of course, we can see that much of this car's aesthetic has been nicked from other motors. A tasteful effort, for the most part.
Like some here, I do have a slight issue with the front wings turned inward as well as the proportion of side glass on the hood.
I really like the look of this car. Quite retro but I suspect the performance is anything but. The bonnet cooling vent looks quite abrupt but I imagine that in reality it looks great.
On viewing the coupe images, I can see influence from Marcos.

Proper coupe look with the roof:
Hmm, so it doesn't look like the windows open and as you say the roof arrangement is hardly ideal - if nothing else if you try to get in and our in the rain the seats will end up soaking wet. Still a fabulous looking thing though. If I was going to put up with that level of inconvenience I think I'd go for the speedster. I'm sure they'll sell 200 without much trouble.

The web page of the U.S.A. distributor, VanDouble LLC, lists the price thusly: "Upon final assembly the Launch EDITION cost approx. 84,000 USD excluding sales taxes."* So the actual starting price will be just shy of 60% higher than the $55K quoted in the story, and that's before taxes or any options.
So what we have here is a $100K car and a poorly researched story.

I REALLY like these, being a fan of Elise / Exige type cars. Pity they are not cheap, because I love the combo of modern chassis / powertrain / brakes etc. and classic 60's (that would never pass a crash test) looks.
Engine is a VQ35DE by the looks of it (from US Altima. Same engine as the Nissan 350Z, but in transverse application) and with a Nissan 6-speeder.
This is actually a really good choice - sounds nice, lightweight, robust, with a significant amount of development in aftermarket mods available, so plenty bolt on ITB kits, superchargers etc. if required! And I'm sure Nissan will sell you.

All of the visual references (cab rearwards, long bonnet) point towards a front engine RWD layout. The actual layout is completely at odds with the story that the proportions tell, and for me that's an uneasy relationship. Would have been so much easier to like with the engine in the front...
