Plus they promote "Don't be a Dick" they let everyone know that they have ANPR on the exit and that they will ban anyone who is being a dick.

It needs this sort of proactive approach, I think the problem with cruise meets is that there is not an apparent pro active approach to stopping people being dicks, more the opposite.
exactly... and until they do, the organisers - whether PH or some individual need to take some responsibility... their event - their responsibility...

But isn’t the precise purpose of some car meet cultures to be a dick though? It’s all about an evening of imagining you are Vin Diesel.

Such signage works at meets where a people aren’t meant to behave like dicks but a dick will always turn up and just need a gentle reminder but other meets are specifically all about being a dick.

Good point. In that case the only solution is a police presence.

C&M have got it right. They have neighbours and have acted to try to ensure they have no cause for complaint.

Plus, as said before, people turn up and stand where they do hoping to see dickish antics. It's a symbiotic relationship. Without the audience who would they be playing up to? And without the antics would so many people turn up and stand where they do?

As sad as it is that people ultimately get injured everyone involved is culpable.

Exactly that-they are being seen to be doing something reasonable to prevent knobbish behaviour. Any reasonable petrolhead would support them in that!

How do you live your life?

A) Like the 99.99% of society, just looking to do the best I can with what I have available.

B) A quarter mile at a time.

Spot on approach there for c&m. They want a certain crowd and they will actively stop dicks, even from bothering to attend let alone act like a bell, so you could say job jobbed.

I saw an interview with the organizer of the cruise in the OP and he was saying how it was out of their control and can't control, which in light of the C&M above, sort of proved that as bks. In essence what he meant was we can't be arsed to police it that tight, with the now ill fated consequences, bound to happen eventually if you ride your luck enough.

'Making progress' means....

A) Travelling efficiently and unobtrusively, avoiding unnecessary delay by paying attention and planning ahead.

B) Trying to beat your personal best time to the McDonalds drive through, while squealing tyres on every corner.

Plus a 1.2 litre Corsa with black wheels, half arsed stripes, a keyring toy hanging off the tow hook and a massively oversized 'zorst'.

Couldn't agree more.

While I have sympathy for the injured, they also own a large proportion of the blame.

If they don't provide an audience, the drivers have nobody to try and impress.

If they don't put themselves in a dangerous place, there's much less risk of injury.

Any news on any prosecutions here?

I know the Police have talked to the drivers involved, but have they actually charged them with anything yet?
