It's an incredible bargain in the US. Same as a base Cayman. 300 bhp or 500 bhp? 4 or 8? Tough choice.
Michelin star restaurant vs. Double Cheeseburger XXLEasy choice indeed. I'll take the former.

and as for the price...
the 2019 RRP of the C7 in the UK started at circa £63,000
I assume that the more formidable C8 will require a bump of £10K or so
therefore I'll make my guess at a UK price in second-half of 2020 at £74,495
ETA: please see correction further down

looks great. old school formula with modern parts, could be a very enjoyable analogue experience.
sadly the main drawback for us is that it's probably too wide to be enjoyed spiritedly on our b roads?
would be a great hire for US road trip though
looks a bargain and i guess the americans will actually buy it hence the price is sustainable.

Official price for the base C7 Corvette Stingray is £72,945 + options. I'm guessing the C8 with a few options will come in around £85k.

The C8 has an overall width of 1934mm (which I am assuming includes mirrors). For comparison, a current Porsche 718 Cayman measures 1994mm across the mirrors. Depends what you class as a wide car these days, though. Okay okay, how about this....in the interest for all those who don’t have £80k to drop on one of these....
Theoretically would it be possible, all things considered, to pick one of these up in 3 years from a dealer in the US, have someone knowledgable convert it to RHD using oem parts, and then ship it over? I estimate the savings to be somewhere in the region of a ‘boat load’.

i'd say the Cayster is too wide. Panamera wide, ok, but the Cayster should be a B road dream.the convertible version was also presented (photo below)
at first glance, there doesn't appear to be a massive difference between the "outdoors experience" of the convertible versus that of the targa top which is fitted as standard
what are those buttresses or pylons called? (the triangles, one behind each headrest)
