I've seen nothing about that, unfortunately. I'd love to know!

Given the estimated UK arrival of 2021, General Motors may feel that it's best to wait before committing to price. There's also the matter of Brexit et al.

You're probably aware of the following, but I'll natter on biggrin in case it's of interest to others.

It's useful to remember that affordable price or value-for-money is central to the Corvette proposition. General Motors will therefore be keen to determine a UK price that is at once disruptive (relative to competitors) whilst also delivering on expectations of profit.

There are a number of unknowns in that. Will demand be fleeting or sustained? Will the UK produce a large pool of buyers for this first-ever RHD Corvette? Or will we see a mere trickle?

A member of PH owns / owned a well-known dealership of US cars in the UK. I recall that earlier this year he lamented that punters talked a lot about their interest in these US cars... whilst few stepped forward to buy.

There may also be lessons from the RHD Mustang. Despite being more affordable than Corvette, it is but a niche seller in the UK. Meanwhile, the Australians buy per capita as many Mustangs as the Americans.

Although Mustang trades in a different product segment to Corvette, and although Mustang targets a different buyer, at a different price point, the Corvette planners at General Motors will not have overlooked some insight there.

Originally, the UK was to have C8 deliveries by early 2021. However... Production (of any and all variants) was delayed several months by a labour strike elsewhere in the GM family. Now that production is to commence in February 2020, it's reasonable to assume that UK deliveries will be pushed back as well. Mid 2021? Late 2021?

Given the variables and the unknowns, and given the strategic role of price to the Corvette brand, it behooves General Motors to publish a UK price at a time that is much closer to UK product availability. Unfortunately for all of us here who are curious!

The exchange rate could go batst up and down over the next 12 months as the likelihood or otherwise of trade deals materialise.

The competing interests are GM pricing the car too early and making a currency cock up, versus building interest up early.

I suspect it'll be little more than a very low volume seller in any case.
