Sorry, but I think this is terrible.
The XJ13's ponderous looks were forgivable due to it's historic context, but this one just looks bulbous and mis-proportioned.
No price given, but for me I'd have an XJ220 over this anyday..
Absolutely agree with you. It's awful looking. Nothing elegant or sport looking about it. It's wrong everywhere. The XJ13's ponderous looks were forgivable due to it's historic context, but this one just looks bulbous and mis-proportioned.

I always thought it was a shame only one XJ13 ever got built, so I really like this.
Now I just need to sort out a lottery win!
So is the one a Gaydon the original? Now I just need to sort out a lottery win!

'Ecurie Ecosse'.. Ffs where do car makers get these fkin daft names from pmsl..
Somebody needs to brush up on their motorsport history!I think this looks lovely, but, seriously, who is going to buy it, other than the mythical billionaire collector who seems to buy all these things....
I happily admit I am no expert on these things, but this is going to be a road car based on something which wasn't even fully developed as a race car, and is only going to use period technology. It is being built by a company with little or know experience of building road cars and, I assume, with very little r&d budget, given the volumes mentioned.
This does not seem to be a recipe for developing a masterpiece....

XJ13 had four camshafts and 48 valves. Jaguar tried using some of these cylinder heads during the Le Mans campaigns in the 1990s and the original XJ220 prototype used them before the production vehicle settled on V6 twin-turbo drivetrain.
Would be interested to see what Ecurie Ecosse use...
XJ13 didnt have 48 valves - it had 24. XJ13 heads were NOT used "during the Le Mans campaigns of the 1990s". Baily's XJ13 quad-cam engine is a completely different engine to Mundy/Hassan's later V12Would be interested to see what Ecurie Ecosse use...
Ecurie Cars are building the LM69 with a unique version of Baily's original 1960s - not an exact replica but inspired by it (and other engines of the era).

I'll dig out my copy of Performance Car with the XJ13 on the front. And my copy of autocar with the xj220 from the Birmingham NEC unveiling on the front - those are my sources...
