Mid 90's I watched Chris Eubank do a 3 point turn, not that remarkable apart from two things:

1) It was in Kensington High Street in the middle of rush hour

2) It was in this....

Guiness family heir Tara Browne had a Lotus Elan which he crashed with fatal consequences in December '66, the newspaper headline the following day gave Lennon the inspiration to start writing 'A Day In The Life'...

There’s a very good biography of Browne by Paul Howard, well worth a read. He was very much a petrolhead, and worked as a mechanic for a while in London. In a very limited racing career, he won the Irish Mercantile Trophy in 1964

There was a suggestion that in the above crash, despite it proving fatal for him at the age of just 21, he did everything possible to ensure his girlfriend survived

This was his Cobra:

Got that book on order, thanks for the tip wink. There's a youtube clip of the Cobra being pushed out of the shop window! When he crashed the Elan his passenger was Suki Potier, afterwards she fell into the arms of Brian Jones, a close friend of Tara Browne.

I recall seeing Jeremy Irons in what seemed to be a daily hack of an Ur S4 or S6 Avant (C4-based 2.2 5-cyl Turbo), which at the time must have been 10-15 years old

Enjoy! A fascinating tale, especially the bits about his somewhat suspect step-father, who also had a penchant for exotic metal

Not so sure - there was one on their show, but I think the member of the public (victim) had it.
