GT2 RS is all about the engine.
Great package but as a rapid more involving road car the 991.2 GT3 wins hands down as being a perfect balance of GT Porsche attributes.
Oh yeah I imagine a GT3 would be a lot less frustrating on the road, I think for me though the sweet spot would be a 718 GT4 with PDK, if it existed.Great package but as a rapid more involving road car the 991.2 GT3 wins hands down as being a perfect balance of GT Porsche attributes.
I do see the appeal of being able to wring out this base model on the public road a bit more though.

Perfect. 385bhp is more than enough for UK roads. I'd take mine RWD in Guards Red, black interior. Zero options.
I will have the same but make mine yellow.WCZ said:

Well, if your only party trick is how much power you have, then I guess such things matter. Thankfully it probably doesn't matter to many Porsche owners, so Porsche don't need to completely ruin a nice Carrera by giving it 450bhp.
It'll be a sad day when Porsche/Lotus/Alpine and others have to play BHP Top Trumps to remain desirable.
yeah, the turbo, speedester, 991 r, gt3, gt2 and gts have all been ruined by bhp....It'll be a sad day when Porsche/Lotus/Alpine and others have to play BHP Top Trumps to remain desirable.
450hp isnt a top trump figure, it's just about value for money vs competition.
it's ferrari and others who are at stupid levels of power now with every car over 700hp, porsche are nowhere near this level of over the top power yet and I personally don't believe that anther 65hp would ruin the base model

Easy enough to get that increase in power by taking it to the likes of DMS or Litchfield although I know lots of owners wouldn't want to do that due to warranty issues.
is there a market for a remap which decreases power for porsche? people seem to have issues with over 400hpGeneral Fluff said:

Over £100K is my guess
Doubt it,I just went on the configurator for a bit of fun and the standard car with no options is choc full of kit. I'd quite happily take it as is.But the one in the photos with the gold wheels 20"/21" wheels, sports exhaust etc, I was referring to is probably north of £100k.

I'd happily take an as its comes Carrera coupe - preferably with the eventual manual and get it to dip below £80K.

Ah fair enough, you can tell more from those pics than I can.But the one in the photos with the gold wheels 20"/21" wheels, sports exhaust etc, I was referring to is probably north of £100k.
I'm impressed at the standard spec though, thought it would need another £15k to make it into a car from what others have said.

Those who think you need £15K of options have been listening to Porsche dealers too much; buy the car you want with the spec you want.

There are one or to things; folding mirrors, auto dipping mirrors; that you get on a £25K hatch that are optional but as you say the standard spec is good.

Depends how long you are keeping the car. Those who think you need £15K of options have been listening to Porsche dealers too much; buy the car you want with the spec you want.
Agree always spec it primarily for yourself but always have an eye on the general market. Some options are a no brainer that add value and saleability.
Others are a total waste of money and can actually detract from value and saleability.

My approach would be the same - do it for yourself... with this in mind (and not being one for wanting to fly under the radar in the usual black or silver...)Agree always spec it primarily for yourself but always have an eye on the general market. I think I'm in love...
I configured mine last night, now just need to make partner at work!!

The usual nonsense being posted here from self-titled "driving enthusiasts". It's a daily driver not a track car. No one wants a noisy hardcore lightweight, with rock hard suspension and a spartan interior for that purpose.
Er, I do! Noisy, lightweight, spartan interior is what I have, and it took me ages to get it just right. The suspension is exe-tc and super comfortable though. The 911 peaked with the 997.2. Still a great GT, but those of us on the wrong side of 50 remember when 911s were unique - built like Swiss watches yet still properly bad-ass. Those days are long gone - the 911 is slowly turning into the 928. Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
