To be fair you can buy camber top mounts for 300 quid and run additional cooling to brakes (not forgetting you'll neer a track suitable pad anyway like a pagid rs29) and better oil and water radiators for say 1500
price.
Yes sure although in the context of a trackable daily, the RS29s can be a little marginal on the road. I got a great result out of basic PFC Z rated instead, which are far more road friendly if like me you don't want to swap your pads on every track day. They do need a better fluid though. I am also still hoping the std 1 deg will be enough with 4ws to give the AD08Rs a good basis for even wear. price.

I think we can all agree Renault are charging 51-72k because they know their cult fans who are wealthy or various car collectors will buy them at almost any price.
I think there is still a lot of price sensitivity and that at £51k it has very little track ready competition while still being usable daily. The GT4 springs to mind but you can't buy it new.You simply couldn't buy the weight saving on a fully homologated base Trophy.

Saw this last night. Had a poke around it and it’s very nice! The first UK RHD car belonging to Renault UK.
So who's had an allocation confirmed and what spec? Should we start a list??

I'm sure 1 degree would be fine as a starting point. Haven't seen much lightweight bodywork yet but carbon bonnet/boot/doors were available aftermarket on the older megane
And to be honest I'd have more fun in a 275 with a hybrid and lots of mods than a brand new 50-75k collector car
Half the fun is not caring if you stack it!

I guess it's all about budget. I really enjoyed the 275 Cup S just on pads, tyres and fluid. It felt fine power wise, even at the Ring. Half the fun is not caring if you stack it!
As for stacking it, there is always track insurance and it's not like the heavily moded 275 will only be worth £12.50.
And the debate goes on as to whether the Megane is the best choice out there for your money.......

lol, I saw this and thought the same too. The whole purpose of the Trophy-R is purely as a track car (to me at least), so let's see a balanced review of the 2 of them on track - or rather an original GT4 as the Ring lap time is identical to the Trophy-RWhen I get mine, I'll be able to offer my thougts having owned a GT4 and taken it out on track plenty of times.
I wonder if they've sold all the allocations as yet?

Spoke to my dealer today and was told they have 2 orders so far, both for the standard car. He also said they expect them to be delivered in October.
My dealer has 2 orders too - both carbon wheels. Their computer systems will hopefully be updated this week and will have more visibility of the build process. Still hoping for end of Sept for the Nurburgring trackday terryb said:

Are you losing an existing car to add this to the paddock or is it an additional toy?1st UK road test is now online from Auto Express - expect to see EVO magazine's review soon

Love the ending to this article - seems like I've ordered the "perfect spec"
"Renault is building just 500 examples of the Trophy-R, with just 32 coming to the UK. Despite this, and the amazing results of Renault Sport’s work, the £51,140 asking price will appear utterly bonkers.
And that’s before options. The carbon wheels, wonderful though they are, cost £12,000. The carbon brakes cost another £9,000, too, though that fact will be moot for most: only thirty carbon-braked cars will be produced, with just two of them allocated for the UK. In reality, then, you’re looking at £63,140 for a Trophy R in its perfect spec. Is it worth it? Absolutely"

EVO review is in and they moan about the brakes and how unyielding the suspension is which I suspect is because they didn't bother to get underneath the car and adjust the Ohlins. On my JCW the difference between 0-10 clicks was night and day with anything below 5 almost undrivable on UK roads and then 10-20 the same again.https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/renault/megane/10781...

They do mention suspension is a let down as configured in their defence. https://www.evo.co.uk/renault/megane-275-trophy/20...
They’re also moaning about the carbon brakes which is understandable. Would of been good if they could have compared both carbon version and non carbon for a comparison.
Full review in EVO magazine today - more in depth than the web version. They are suitably impressed with it’s on track performance, as you would expect and finish off by saying that to get the best on the road they will need to adjust the suspension and basically leads you to think that there will be another review in due course. I’m sure it will be included in their Track Car of the Year feature in a few months.
Also, seems like the non ceramic braked car, may be better on the road if the braking feel is better - but also a more relevant test as only 1 UK customer car with the ceramic brakes - the other is the Renault UK car.
