I'm pleased to see people actually interested in driving, rather than having the fastest thing possible on PCP to show off their 'lifestyle', will be catered for by the 'Pure' version.
'Pure' only available for cash buyers tooYou can then become the subject of one of those "I knew a bloke who...." threads on PH.

Why?
BMW is free to go and make a performance electric car, but what's wrong with M cars remaining petrol?
An all electric M car with independent motors on each wheel would be an absolute monster. It’d be better vs a petrol version on just about every metric except top speed. The characteristics of a drivetrain like that are far more interesting than what you get just adding more and more power. Looking forward to a manufacturer actually embracing this.BMW is free to go and make a performance electric car, but what's wrong with M cars remaining petrol?

It looks like an ugly twin brother of the Alfa QF
It looks like nothing I've ever seen before, the only front end/grill combo that comes close is the Pontiac Solstice Peanus said:

Imagine being this affected by how people choose to spend their own money I must be terrible because I bought my house with a mortgage and I have to pay it off monthly....I couldn't afford to buy it outright, clearly I need to hand my PH membership in!

Why not offer a Manual with AWD? That's my preferred option.
Then give it that button, like on the M5, to turn the AWD off.
If it was simple they'd do it - at very least that would be another set of WLTP tests which will be fantastically expensive. Then give it that button, like on the M5, to turn the AWD off.
Chances are it'd be another gearbox to develop and validate, all for something that virtually no-one would buy.

It would be interesting, unless you like the foibles that come along with combustion-powered cars that only drive one axle.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
