Had a Giulia QF until recently and always had the same frustration. Now have an ND2 MX5, a pile of cash in the bank and a constant grin when I’m driving.
Sold my RS recently for the same reason , to fast for my local B roads and not fast enough to keep up with the German dual carriage way Grand Prix , not really enjoyable and a bit silly . So I bought a lower powered hot hatch and hey presto I am smiling again driving my car . Result .

That is just a total load of balls. Speak to Mountune or another tuner that deals with RS's not an uniformed guy from the internet. The head gasket issue has long since been solved and open deck blocks are nothing new.
What uniform was he wearing? wink

Watch the needle at 3:13, the Focus has got so much power that the 4WD appears to be struggling to keep up.

I know the Merc’s cost thousands more but I can’t help but think that it’s a massive waste of money making a Focus 500 bhp. How did an E63 brake sooner than a car with 500 kilos less and all that money spent on it?

How was it unable to out drag a G wagen that literally weighs a tonne more and has the aero dynamics of a brick!

I love hot hatches but to me, trying to make them faster is a waste of money, me going on steroids, ill look bigger and I’ll lift more weight but i’m still the same skinny guy!

It's not struggling, it's just got more power than it can put down... 4wd isn't a guaranteed way of stopping wheel spin.
Plus manual gearbox easily will add 0.7-1 second on 0-60.

Appeared to have a bunch of turbo lag as well, it didn’t get away at all well on the rolling test.

I think it was only in the region of a second faster over the 1/4 mile than a standard car which doesn’t seem quite right.

I suspect it's not actually 500hp.

I have a friend with an Audi S3 , approx 550hp. It does consistent 10.6 1/4 at Santa Pod.

Looks like it suffered considerably due to the manual gearbox. In gear was faster than the G63 but quite some margin until each gear change which really makes it a very quick car.

That E63s is a beast.

And i still think my 200bhp hot-hatch is borderline pointless on todays roads!
Yeah I'll be happy if I can get to nine-tenths with 200hp without going through a hedge inverted

520hp is just ... nuts

All very well but these will not be capable of big mileage. Such a small capacity engine producing this power will drastically shorten life.
Head gaskets will blow, blocks will have rods through the side, rings will melt and transmissions fail...all sooner rather than later...

And on top of that, the car isn’t that much quicker on the 1/4 and it makes a horrible noise!

It probably is a lot quicker on the road, in gear and that however I struggle to see the point of that extra 15 k, why not just buy an M2C and be done with it.

I think it sounds great but agree an M2C would be where safe money would go.

But then I don't think this car is about sales, it is about showcasing a company. It would likely have been more sensible to put the sequential 'box in it and drop those times by another second or so.
