Me too. Big range, quiet, comfy, fit loads in it. And a sports car with non of the above but more fun.
Considering this will cost £110k with all the sporty chassis, brake, engine, suspension options you could get a brand new Boxster GTS and a A6 sport 45 TFSI quattro
Only prob with that is running two cars doesn't suit everyone and extra costs of insurance, tax, parking space and general servicing etc ...if you need one family wagon with serious performance hard to look past tbh...had a C7 RS6 for 4 years and it was a pleasure to own did many the long run in Europe and it was comfortable, fast with lots of luggage space...these will make a lovely buy in 3 yrs time when they are 40k cheaper! The black or carbon styling packs will sort out the fussy rear end from the pics Considering this will cost £110k with all the sporty chassis, brake, engine, suspension options you could get a brand new Boxster GTS and a A6 sport 45 TFSI quattro

I must be getting old, I am failing to see the point.
I like fast cars and this has silly performance for a massive estate car, but it just doesn't light my fire. For silly fast driving I would rather have a sports car, for a family wagon, I really don't need all that power. My old A6 with just under 300bhp has quick enough as an everyday car.
I do get what you are saying but I've always really liked the RS6 because it is so overpowered and mostly pointless(in the UK at least). So It makes me want one even more because of it! Not a car I would buy particularly, mainly as I cant afford it and am getting past speed for speeds sake to an extent, wouldnt say no but it is at odds with keeping my license, but am glad they still make stuff like this.
I can't afford one either and even if I could I don't think that I'd be able to afford to fuel it as a daily. I heard one start up the other day(I was a tad disappointed at how quiet it was though), and I just love the shape and how fast they are in such a practical body. akhtar-7lln8 said:

Stealthy it isn't. Some people complain that M5's are too understated for their tastes and would want to show they'd got something a bit special, powerful etc.stealth ready for mission

This new RS6, big wheels, blister arches, get out of the way front end... I think the average man in the street seeing it parked up would know there was this was more that the average A6 than 5 Series to M5.

I miss my C7 RS6 and this looks fantastic. DRC pack is a must as it handled so much better than the standard air suspension model I had before it. I suspect this will be similar.
Rear sports diff was standard on the C7 so I hope they haven't rolled back some previously standard options? Would be a shame as the M5 needs very little in the way of options.

From experience, the RS6 can get very expensive when you add options and I imagine adding the rear diff and rear wheel steering - even bundled as a 'pack' - will mean this is a easily north of £100,000 if you opt for the ceramics.
When i had a C7 Performance, I managed to get a £14,000 discount using CarWow, but imagine the same won't come easily until these are a couple of years old. That's difficult to swallow when you can get significant discounts on the alternative BMW and Mercs.
I would say though that the C7 RS6 was genuinely the absolute best car I've ever had in terms of ticking just about every box possible. It went like stink, was fun to drive despite its size, had all the toys, and received more comments than you'd imagine a black estate car ever could. Despite having 600bhp, I easily got over 30mpg too thanks to the cylinder deactivation. It was truly a wonderful car. If the C8 achieves the same, it'll be a winner.
Best car I ever owned too. Started with a basic 2014 model and then traded in for a fully loaded 2016 model and that was even better. Look great, sound great and go like advertised.
10-15% will be available after 12-24 months but BMW are offering over 25+% discount on the M5 right now!

Wow... well over two tons now. Loads of tacky tat glued on. Yet lots of praise here. I guess Audi know their market!
I prefer old school Audi, where the fast versions merely had a small badge.
Whatever next. Maybe three ton cars with 1000bhp. Something to look forward to
Agree 100%! I prefer old school Audi, where the fast versions merely had a small badge.

No one complaining about engine placement over the front axle, no 2wd setting.
All they care is the styling....

Looks are one thing, but anyone bemoaning the RS6 just cleary hasn't driven one.
I race an Elan which weighs under 600kg, yet I still think the RS6 is great to drive. Every preconception you have about it being too big, or too fast for the road.... rubbish.
Undoubtedly a lot of money, but on the plus side, you save money and hassle versus a practical, luxury car plus a sports car. As someone else said, not everyone has the appetite to run a fleet, or the space to house one.

If you want more handling and ditch roughly 400kg, the new CLA45 AMG Shooting Break is something to look forward to.
If you can ditch the 4wd for more lightweight oldschool enjoyment, I'm still very pleased with my modified Cupra ST, bit bigger boot yet 600kg or so lighter it matches a 718 for weight and power... And manual, too...

C8 rs6 = complete fail, like I was expecting.
This car has nothing on f90 m5 and e63s, bmw/merc beat audi at their on game. Laughable....
If I buy a car like this I absolutely don't care about laser headlights, and all other BS, all I want to do is to go sideways, it's the 1# priority!
Well firstly, I think it has a number on the M5 because the M5 is saloon only.... Secondly, what doesn't it have on the Merc? This car has nothing on f90 m5 and e63s, bmw/merc beat audi at their on game. Laughable....
