Think it looks fantastic.

Too big for me and I decided to go sports car + more vanilla family transport some years ago. However if I ever needed to go back to one car that would tick as many boxes as possible this would definitely be a contender.

The M5 looks just awful imo. The vanilla 5 series are the most boring looking car in the segment, the M5 is just the same with a few tacky bits stuck on. And no, its not understated, it's just a boring lazy design

I like it and breathed a big sigh of relief when i read that they haven’t stuck a dirty diesel engine in it.

The M5 and E63 just look too ordinary for me strange that BMW gave the M3 and M4 the necessary blistered arches but didn't with the new M5, Merc the same with the C63 coupe but not the saloon or estate...at least Audi are consistent and at this performance and price level I want my Uber wagon to look alot more aggressive than the bog standard base car. Yep I think this car in black, blue or dark grey with black or carbon packs will look the dogs dangles.

Henry Catchpole stated the old air suspension models, but not the sports suspension, could have a tow bar - both have the ability for a tow bar now.
Yes - the C7 RS6 can be equipped with a tow bar.. i think if you got the dynamic pack then it was deleted (i don’t have the tow bar...)

10-15% will be available after 12-24 months but BMW are offering over 25+% discount on the M5 right now!
Indeed but as year old M5s are selling for around half what they were new, surely further discount is going to make depreciation even more drastic. Either way if I had the money I would have both biggrin

I think the OEM’s are missing the point with these now. Cool car etc, but subtle it most certainly isn’t.

They need to dial back the looks to at most S-line equivalent, as this thing is actually a little bit ridiculous looking.

These were once aimed at the discreet buyer. Only those in the know may have noticed the subtle badge and quietly nodded.

Now they are aimed at the Instagram look at me shouty finance set. Tad different times.

That’s true, I really like this new RS6 but agree it is a bit bling, they need to find a balance between the two imo. It was slightly embarrassing years ago when I was in my E55K AMG and a couple of people went to get in it outside a pub thinking it was a taxi paperbag .

I miss my C7 RS6 and this looks fantastic. DRC pack is a must as it handled so much better than the standard air suspension model I had before it. I suspect this will be similar.

Rear sports diff was standard on the C7 so I hope they haven't rolled back some previously standard options? Would be a shame as the M5 needs very little in the way of options.
I noticed that.

From experience, the RS6 can get very expensive when you add options and I imagine adding the rear diff and rear wheel steering - even bundled as a 'pack' - will mean this is a easily north of £100,000 if you opt for the ceramics.

When i had a C7 Performance, I managed to get a £14,000 discount using CarWow, but imagine the same won't come easily until these are a couple of years old. That's difficult to swallow when you can get significant discounts on the alternative BMW and Mercs.

I would say though that the C7 RS6 was genuinely the absolute best car I've ever had in terms of ticking just about every box possible. It went like stink, was fun to drive despite its size, had all the toys, and received more comments than you'd imagine a black estate car ever could. Despite having 600bhp, I easily got over 30mpg too thanks to the cylinder deactivation. It was truly a wonderful car. If the C8 achieves the same, it'll be a winner.
Agreed, owed many a fast car. The Nardo Grey RS6 Performance is still the best car I’ve ever owned. Incredible.

I loved my C7 - one of the best cars I will ever own - but subtle? No. And this takes the game on further, in the wrong direction. For me - and I get we are all different - it is the wolf in sheep’s clothing that is part of the attraction.
I now drive a silver de-badged B9 RS4 which barely ever generates a second glance, but goes like hell, and handles too. Perfect.

1) these cars are awd because an everyday car with 500+ bhp is pointless. You can’t deploy 600bhp through rwd on a dry day in a 2 tonne car, never mind when it’s cold or wet. It’s wet a lot in the UK.

2) I can’t help thinking that (waaaiiit for it) the Model 3 performance owners will be feeling smug at smoking the RS6 at the lights and it costs half as much to buy and a fraction to run.
Have to put the dog on the back seats in the M3P though. 😂

I do think they have overdone the bling. I used to respect the C6 and C7 as the uninitiated didn’t clock it but those that knew, knew. Now it’s shouting at you.

I really do like the styling on this. Lots of comments about the rear, but I like it though I would get the Black styling pack to ensure those silver bits on the rear blend in.
Good to see an actual real exhaust rather than the shockingly poor one on the S6 (and Merc E55!)
Tempted to trade in my RS4 for this, but at £90k WITHOUT options, i'll probably have to suck it up and just keep the 4. Initial reviews on youtube keep mentioning "optional" which to me sounds like Audi have basically done a Boeing and said if you want something that you can actually drive you'll need to buy the pack to do it!
Car looks amazing and they've done a good job of keeping the agressiveness of the last model, just disappointed everything appears to be an option and will more than likely price me out! frown

RS sports suspension sounds interesting, similar tech to what McLaren has on the 720s
Pretty sure it's just magnetic ride, where the oil is magnetised with an electric current to stiffen the ride.
