Most people with these SUVs don't need them, they may cant the elevated driving position and some will claim the additional space but ultimately it's nothing a hatchback or saloon car couldn't do.
Sorry Alex but that's utter bks based on my experience.

Would be perfect for my old man now. He insists on a convertible but most of them are too low or hard riding for his aging bones. Sent him the article on the t roc the other day as an option.
Evoque cab just too expensive and no boot.

Pretty ridiculous things really
Eg the RR sports are bad enough in standard form. Electronic gizmos make the van perform like a car. Then chop off the roof to make it more difficult.
Nuts.
Except, of course this being a complete nonsense statement. It's almost as if in your effort to fit in you're utterly confused about which models you don't like . Nuts.

They are MPVs, not SUVs

It doesn't look like the T-ROC has much boot either but will be much cheaper.

I suspect the point was that the PT Cruiser convertible is ridiculous on the same level as the Evoque convertible.

Maybe confusing for you but "'Tard"? laugh Someone's tetchy...
Correction...you posted a video giving somebodys buying advice in ALL classes.
Your views on convertibles were summed up in a concise blasphemous 3 words that eloquently say a lot about your level of intelligence, class and education level.
Well done!

cool beyond almost anything else on the road

there is a huge history of convertible 4x4s - the only unreasonable thing is calling them SUVs biggrin
those who are anti - usually says more about them than the car - maybe it is their way of bigging themselves up by putting others down?

and for the non-purists, I bring you Kahn's interpretation biggrin
I’m constantly amazed at the number of peasants who think you can shoot tigers or fly falcons from a hard top SUV.

You’re drawing an awful lot of conclusions from my judicious use of the term Jesus fking Christ, Flatty.

I’d suggest you stay away from these forums in future if you’re that easily offended.

And it wasn’t just somebody's buying advice was it, or do you also find Top Gear too offensive? Best retreat to your nearest safe space.

Also the video link time stamp was clearly to the SUV segment...

You’re the one using the offended tone here Schmedster...try to contain your nerves when you see a body style you do not like on your next commute. No need for safe spaces here, I’ve seen and lived more then your entire family tree has ever heard of. Believe me, nobody that survived communism needs a safe space.
Now go back, pick up a book and try to learn some manners your parents were never able to make you understand. Take this as a learning opportuninty to brush up on your language, even when hiding behind a keyboard. Next time you strike out, you will realise why.

Strange how the evoque holds its value so well. I hardly ever see them (and I’m London based so would expect that to be a big market for them) so they can’t have sold that well.

Where do you live, Essex or Cheshire? As Evoque convertibles are a rare sight. Think I've only seen one in the wild, in that terrible orangey colour.

Yeah I’m only at 10 max I would say in a city of 8 million plus.

Agree. Each to their own but to me they look like prams. I also do get irritated being stuck behind anyone in a convertible when they decide to lower the roof and hold everyone up whilst they drive at 10MPH. They come across as attention seeking and selfish.
I've literally never encountered that. It must be such an uncommon experience to really not be worth getting upset about.
I’ve seen it in L1 on the M25 when it started raining - A4 cabriolet. Couldn’t quite believe my eyes!

rofl

I have a family of five, with two child seats, it was a struggle in the 3 series Touring, but since getting an X5, a lot more comfortable. Elevated space is great, but you can't make a hatchback as spacious without it becoming hideous (see Vauxhall Signum from 2004, or Mercedes R Class minivan).

People have their reasons - having been in an SUV before the 3 series, the 3 series was too low, like I was clambering into a go kart... I just prefer the seating position of an SUV wink
