So mighty it’s 60bhp down on the Stelvio Quadrifoglio with the same 2.9l engine capacity.
Wouldn't surprise me to find that Porsche are understating the actual power of the Macan as they are with the latest 911s so the gap is smaller or even non existent. Are the Quadrifoglios producing the stated figure or more?Edit** Just been reading the Litchfield article where it does seem that the quoted BHP of a standard 992 is understated by quite a bit!

I mean, what do Ferrari know about making a good engine anyway.... I think their horses are not exactly limp
In reality I guess there won't be that much crossover because the Porsche appeals to a different sort of buyer even though it's in the same class, the Porsche is a more compelling refined premium object for most people, the Stelvio is for people who love italian cars/would like a Giulia Quad Estate but can't have one..?

Very handsome. Easily the best looking car in the segment. In person, they are one of those machines that transcend brand and segment, and just look great, period. The Megane Renaultsport is one of those cars, the Porsche Macan is another. And what a belter it must be with a 440hp blown V6. Who said romance was dead?
It is a good looking car for it's type, I personally think the Velar SVAutobiography looks better though and it's what I would choose, probably the Alfa 2nd and then the Macan, nothing else in the sector particularly interests meGT3hopeful said:

Not it doesn't.
The S model uses the old 3.0 V6, not the same engine at all to the new 2.9 unit, which is only for the Turbo.
They both have the same new 2.9 V6 albeit the Turbo has two turbos attached to it and the S only has oneThe S model uses the old 3.0 V6, not the same engine at all to the new 2.9 unit, which is only for the Turbo.
The new S uses the Audi 3.0 single turbo V6, as used in the SQ5 etc., NOT a single turbo version of the new 2.9 V6.

I presume that this has the current Audi RS4 engine in it then. I've read really good things about this engine.
Same engine, but the BIG difference is that for cost saving measures Audi now use the ZF8 in the RS4, where as Porsche use the infinitely better PDK.IMO, Audi's biggest faux-pa in a long time, a great engine let down by an inferior box.
