Agree. Loved the 458 to drive, but wasn’t completely sold on the looks. Likewise 488. But for me, the F8 has that indefineable “ooh, I want one” quality about it, esp with that hint of 288 GTO about it. Nice.

Looks just like the 488 and the 458. Although they do have previous with evolutionary design...308, 328, 288

No it doesn’t. Clearly derived from the 458 but much improved in the looks department.

those are mutually exclusive. A standard F8 will weigh in at 1500+kg topped up with running fluids. You’d need to remove the aircon, get all the carbon options (some don’t really make any difference) and avoid ticking any boxes that would add weight in order to get to the presumable weights they claim.

Just more Ferrari BS. Just give the actual weight of the car you buy standard. Tell how much weight you can save if you tick the light weight package like how Porsche does.
Just checked a random 488 GTB (the closest i could find ), 1590kg inc driver. Im really surprised its that high. Thats heavier than a Chevy C6 Z06, measured in the same way for the Swedish registration. A little bit surprising..

The lack of proper sound is a worry.

As is the compromised rear styling.

Entirely personal thing, but to me the 458 is the purest, cleanest and prettiest of the iterations. Same for the McLaren with the 12C.

Is this the 3rd iteration of the same chassis? Have Ferrari done this with the model before? I'm sure it's brilliant, but the underneath is 10 years old now. Suppose they're copying McLaren in amortising chassis costs by simply using it again and again and again!

Here we go with the 'no turbo lag' thing again.
Reports for last Ferrari, Journos said they were amazed because there was absolutely no turbo lag. Now this new one comes out and, yes, it's amazing because there is no turbo lag. Unlike any turbo engine before it...
So does that mean that there actually was in the last one? Seems to me that Journalists have been reporting that the lag problem has been eradicated for years now - then going back on it when a slight improvement is made. I guess I'll have to drive it myself to see.

To those Pista buyers looking purely to make a killing from speculation.......... (in the voice of Nelson Muntz from The Simpsons) Ha. Ha.

i think they will be ok, all the reviews i have seen for this car say it was designed to be a road car not a track car and it is fractionally slower than the pista

I agree with the 12C.

McLaren's new efforts look rather tacky to me. I've never been a fan of the curvy tacky lights and OTT swoops. None have graceful lines as per 1950/60s curves. They just look so forced and horrid.

I'd say Lambo are equally as distasteful now. For opposite reasons. They are like origami. As if their cars are made from a jumble of flat plywood panels. Like metallic F117A. But not in a good way!

At least Ferrari still look good in a traditional manner. Not saying old fashioned either. Far from. It's just they have good proportions and curves. Nothing daft, stuck on, or tacky.

I'd take an Ultima Evo over the lot personally.

Titanium conrods. The F355 and 360 had them. I didn't realise later engines returned to steel (if they did).
Should have 4 exhausts!

It's a V8 with a turbo on each bank so it was bound to have two exhausts. I'm guessing you meant four exhaust exits but that's a completely different thing and would make little to no difference to the performance or sound (the latter will be sorted by Novitec et al). It would just be showing off - I'm pleased they've had the balls to just use two (as they did with the 488 and Pista) when the roads are awash with 4 cylinder hatchbacks with four outputs ...

I'm sure the aftermarket will sell four exit exhausts for people with insecurity issues wink

great car but unfortutently it's clearly nowhere near as good on track as a pista so I think the pista is safe in terms of a difference in residuals

This styling is reminding me of the 12C...

When it came out I thought the 12c was lazy, something you'd see if you asked anyone to draw a super car, very generic ...I still think that so I think the 458 is the high water mark for Ferrari

Is this then the next instalment in the 348, 355, 360, 430, 458, 488 lineage ?

This is not The Greatest car in the World, no.
This is just a Tributo.

Too much fussy aero.

I'm sure much of that performance that the aero yields could be gained through hybrid power or some mechanical trickery.
