That makes no sense, there absolutely is a place for the registration plate on the front bumper on a 3 series that was designed by the manufacturer. Mine has always had a plate in the exact space it is supposed to be, by design.

Edit: I see you are talking about a different car than your profile. Our Alfa has a number plate holder off set to right as you face it, can't say it has ever bothered me?

Fitted aftermarket by the dealer network.
Alfa supply the car without plate or plinth. Leaving it up to the customer.
Don't care, cars have front number plates when sold. If you didn't like how it looks, buy a different car. Who puts looks over legality??

IT’S ILLEGAL!!

Oh my goodness, how dare people do anything illegal...

Like creeping over the speed limit, like you’ve all done.
Get a fking grip, for God’s sake.

I really don’t get the obsession with messing around with number plates. Private plates, mis-spaced plates, removed plates, smoked plates, it’s all pathetic. They’re a legal requirement, not a fashion statement. Use the reg the car came with in the legal format and stop being an attention seeking moron.

Seriously, why the need to personalise such a thing? Is your life that empty and your desire for someone to look at you that strong? Get a grip.

And to the inevitable chav tts who will be along with the “the world would be a dull place if everyone did everything the same” argument, my rebuttal remains the same. It’s. A. Number plate. Grow up.
Excellent post.

No she got promoted again.

Very odd of you to keep stalking her btw.

Anyway don't worry she earns way more than you.

Isn't it about time you changed your username yet again to convince yourself people don't recognise your inane ramblings you must have had the current one for at least 2 months now.

Why are you fitting a black and silver plate to your new bike?

Assuming the car was UK supplied, no they don't.
It has to be UK compliant and it will be supplied with a relevant mounting bracket.
The dealer has to fit a front plate.
How long has that law been in existence?

A big hypocrisy in how PH often feels about speed limits compared to this front plate debacle... 20 limits massively unpopular, wanting motorway limits raised etc are common opinion. No front number plate is surely the less risk of those...

...Its not cars with no front number plates that PH dislikes, its the type of people that are likely to drive without front number plates that PH dislikes, even if only a few would admit it laugh

I almost always pull over cars I see without front plates. It’s generally done to avoid detection by ANPR, or to look cool. It’s surprising how many things this leads onto.
Very true.

The fk the law attitude often leads to other criminal activity.

Surely if one would want to dabble in ‘other’ criminal activity (assuming a type of criminal activity is having no front plate... lol..) then your vehicle would be best being completely road legal to the eye, thus going under the radar of the BiB...

Hardly a valid comparison though is it.

It’s the only means of identifying a vehicle, so choosing to not run a front plate, on the basis that the car looks better without it, despite it being a legal requirement, is idiotic.

How would you feel if a loved one was injured by a hit and run driver and there was no way to trace the driver as he/she wasn’t running a front plate?

I mean, the car still looked better right? Would people still need to get a grip?

Give over laugh

Just look at the back plate.

For avoidance of doubt, I agree a certain type of person removes their front plate, my argument is with the double standards of the majority on this thread with regards to things illegal..

Fair point but as most criminals who are dumb enough to illegally butcher a plate and show a C124PPY one or run plate delete aren't normally blessed with many brain cells. rolleyes

Intelligence has it's limits.

Stupidity does not.

And if the witness to your loved ones accident, or CCTV, or ANPR, was positioned in such away that the rear wasn’t visible, you’d still be okay?

Of course not.

There is a reason why a means to identify a car is a legal requirement for the front AND rear.

If you had to guess what car is most likely to be seen with its front plate removed I’d guess

1. Vw transporter van
2. Audi A3 (driven loudly by a nob)
3. VW ruined for the stance scene by muppet.

It’s odd that VAG group cars attract these idiots.

Everyone disagreeing with not displaying a front plate, please carry on displaying one and move on. Probably on to Mumsnet. Be the sheep. Do as you're told. Leave the people with the capacity to make a decision to their own devices. It's personal preference. Understand that.
And. carry. on. adding. full. stops. after. Every. Word.

Because we care what you think......

And if your loved one was hit by a motorbike, or by a car whilst holidaying in many parts of the USA?
