Most uncomfortable car seats on a modern car (to you)?

I dont find the sports seats in my 2018 3 series very comfy at all. Find on longer journeys I'm always moving to try and get comfy.
Strange, I find my 335d sports seats fine.I think people expect too much from seats, the human frame is not made to be sat down for hours on end. I guess my Volvo 740 GL had the most comfortable seats, but I was 25 years younger then!

Early focus was horrendous, had one as a hire car and had to stop after 20 mins to put a rolled up jumper behind my back.
I've yet to find a modern Vauxhall that's comfortable, the seat bases always seem very flat and hard.
I had to do the same with my MK3 Focus, but my back's used to them now so they aren't too bad any more.I've yet to find a modern Vauxhall that's comfortable, the seat bases always seem very flat and hard.
I had a 2012 Astra Elite so it had the leather seats with extending thigh support, I thought they were really comfortable and never had an issue

Make that 3.
I borrowed my mates old Saab 9-3 as a runabout expecting a st car but ultra lovely seats. It was fking horrible and never got comfy and it was still a st car.
Curious.....I did over 300k miles in 3 Saab’s: 9-3 aero, 9-5 aero saloon then 9-5 aero estate: all had superbly comfy heated seats! Maybe the Aeros get a better spec seat?I borrowed my mates old Saab 9-3 as a runabout expecting a st car but ultra lovely seats. It was fking horrible and never got comfy and it was still a st car.
Also love my 2014 XC60: 75k miles from new, just back from a 1,500 mile family Scotland “tour”, find it great (& prefer the higher position on motorways etc).
Bad? Could never get comfy in our previous SMax. Never found BMW seating good (but not been in one for perhaps 5 years now). Our Nissan Figaro is a cute motor, but seats awful for any long runs
Fiat 500 seats are truly awful for me. Wide, flat and unsupportive. I've also found this to be the case for a lot of other modern cars. They seem to be made for the "larger" person. In fact I think this is one of the reasons that cars are getting huge; on average people are fatter than they used to be. I'm very tall but skinny which makes things difficult. The sports bucket seats in my Z4 are tiny and excellent. JLR products with the 14 or 16 way seats with electronically extandable squabs and inflatable bolsters (BMW have these too as an option) are also fantastic.
Worst I've tried in recent times by a long way has to be a 2011 Evoque.
The seats looked wonderful, but were utterly horrific to sit in. I drove one from Gaydon to Durham and had to take painkillers by the end of the journey.
I left JLR in 2013, but I'm told by a former colleague that the seats in later models were much improved. It wouldn't be difficult.

I was going to give the prize for poor seats to my wife's Mercedes SLK (R170) until I drove her replacement R171, which must have the least comfortable seats I've ever sat in. Passengers agree. Odd, because the seats in my old SL R129 were really rather nice (but, of course, much sturdier than the SLK seats and in a car built at a time when Mercedes still cared about having a reputation for quality).
My passengers uniformly moan about the seating (especially the lateral support) in the Alfa 156 GTA but the driving seat seems OK, but then I know when I'm chucking the thing into a corner better than my passengers, I suppose.
The best seats I've had, by a country mile, were in my old SAAB 9000SE and in my Panamera S.

The fifth generation Vauxhall Astra (we had them at work) had the worst seats that I've ever encountered.
Used to give me pins and needles after 20 minutes.
Which was odd since the previous model was fine.
I had one of those and was always really impressed with the seats. Mine had adjustable lumbar though, and I think more basic ones had flatter, less supportive seat squabs and backsUsed to give me pins and needles after 20 minutes.

Sports seats in the F30 3 series...
Interesting 'cause my mate has one and I love the seats. I can spend all day in that car and get out feeling like I've just had a long, hot soak in the bath. Meanwhile my mate is on about getting rid as the seats give him backache. He likes old Porsche seats (1980s 911 & 1990s 944) which I can't get comfortable in.DoubleD said:
BMW SE seats. I presume that these were made for, erm....a larger frame than I am.
I actually prefer the SE seats to the sports seats!I don't like the extra bolstering on the sports seats ( and I am only 12.5 stone, 5'10") and I find the SE seats absolutely fine when pushing it through the bends over Exmoor.
If I could change one thing, it would be to make them cloth- I hate leather ( well vinyl in BMW), just like I hate leather sofas!
My dads Honda Civic velour seats would be ideal in my Z4 coupe!
As for the worse seats, a few months back, I had the misfortune to be a rear seat passenger in a hired Vauxhall Mokka- they were terrible- like sitting on church pews. Apparently not much better up front- not ideal for a 500 mile drive to Scotland!
