Those pictures look fresh out of Gran Turismo

Will be epic in the flesh, I would imagine.

Looks good and I would not do the subtle sophisticated thing with the grey. Good for a stockbroker or a surgeon.

Give me red.

What's with the never-ending windscreen?

It's not going to be any easier to climb into with the roof off since the trailing edge of the windscreen extends almost over the entire length of the seat.

You'll be able to spot 812 convertible owners at swanky events by the open wounds on their foreheads

So, hands up who doesn’t want a 9000rpm V12 convertible? cloud9

Rather as we saw the last of the manual gearboxes a decade ago, there’s a good chance that these are the last of the naturally aspirated engines. Shame it’ll be well north of £300k by the time it hits the road.

LOVE the buttresses
HATE the messy backside
But somehow if I could afford it I'd cope but never in depressing Tarmac Grey.

What a shame that Mazda's clumsy ugly Targa roof MX-5 could not have been as low & sleek.

Some details on the engine might be an idea. NA? SC? Turbo? Engineering info please.

Honestly, with removable hard top panels and flying buttresses the current "spyders" seem more like cars with a sunroof open than an actual spider or roadster or convertible.

I have sat in it with the roof open and roof closed at the launch last Monday at Fiorano .

It's no more difficult or potentially damaging to forehead than any other similar convertible. I'm 6'5" and 88 KGs and nearly 64 years old so if I can manage it - so can you.

Do keep up at the back - it's an 812 Superfast in essence. V12 n/a, 6.5 litres, 800 BHP and it's redlined at 9000.

Considering that we are at the end of the road for the internal combustion engine, what a way to go! what a car! As a petrol-engined car, this (probably with the Valkyrie) will never be surpassed.
It is somehow sad, but totally glorious at the same time. Like the Sea Fury among piston-engined fighter planes...

Wow now here's a dilemma, following a Euro lotto win, this or the recently released Aston Martin DBS SL Volante?

Both utterly gorgeous IMO, would be a really tough decision but a lovely problem to have.

That is a Spyder I actually want.

Have seen two or three 812’s in discreet colours on the road, somehow they look much better moving and in dark colours than a bright red one in a showroom. Can’t believe how low the bonnet is over a 6.5 litre V12.
