these two guys in one of the photos, I guess they're the designers.
Either that or they are some other BMW executives and they haven't seen the front, yet.

They wouldn't be smiling if they'd stepped forwards and taken a look.
Hooydonk (on the right) the head of design, looks like he's backing away from it....

Actually, if it's got 4wd and a front PTO it can replace a Klaas:

Design geniuses.
It'll get you to your office in London faster than anyone else in rush hour. Anyone in front of you will look in their rear view mirror, feel slightly sick and pull over to the left as quickly as possible before throwing up all over themselves. Who wants to keep looking at that for longer than absolutely necessary?

Exactly... others say they’re not really premium anymore because they are everywhere.
I read somewhere 3/4yrs ago, by a BMW exec, that they had to grow and expand or risk becoming part of another group.
Re the Concept 4, the grill is bad. Will it be softened for production? I hope and would image so though I’m doubting it will be more like what we’ve but used to (7 and X7 excluded)

Of course it will be shrunk for production. They clearly want to fit bigger grilles to their cars as they’ve finally realised that consumers associate a small grille with a small penis, especially in Asia. This is the shocking intro to the world of BMWs with massive ball bag shaped grilles that announce to the world that like an Audi driver you too have a spectacular manhood. Once the world has become accustomed this this parody grille then the real one which will be quite a bit smaller will be released to production.

In reality, all it’s doing is announcing that in the future your BMW is no longer going to make you look like you have a small willy.

Worst "I have a small penis" post ever.

It's fking horrendous, but as many said, there's probably some psychology at play here.

As in, do a concept with a massively disproportionate grille which will make everyone hate it. People will talk about it, after all it worked for Google as Google isn't a word and everyone hated the name.

Then design a softened version which is still utterly offensive but because it's less offensive than the concept it will be begrudgingly accepted and the world moves on with a disgusting looking 4 series.

I forgot about this concept! I think that looks stunning but that will never make it into production looking like that. The same thing happened with the Supra and it’s concept.

I really like it. From the front wheels back. The last 6 inches is awful. The back is very Audi A5/A7 though.

So those two designers stood back and looked the front and said....’that’s it we’ve nailed it’ Should have gone to specsavers. What is it with BMW grills these days.....Once elegant now just hideous.

Wow how did that grill get signed off by the board? The rest of the car is a lot better than recent efforts from BMW.

Does anyone else see within the next year every BMW gets a redesigned smaller kidney grill when sales fall off a cliff?
