it's hard to put this into words

but this car or alpina as a brand is weird and when i say weird i mean in a good way . they stick to their guns ....take a normal bmw and do some weird things to it and that's the way it is .....my point is more and more cars these days regardless of power and cost are just boring ...too safely played in terms of design and power and handling . companies like RUF and ALPINA are still doing their weird thing and its awesome!!!! if i were to win the lotto alpina and ruf would be my first call ....not lambo ferrari or audi. don't get me wrong they make great cars . but they have lost that dirty charm of a overpowered car you used to see in the 80s and 90s . we all like a bit of odd filth and alpina keep on producing .

The arse end of the M3 saloon is a mess; the estate version looks a whole lot better.
AND the 20" wheels look stupidly large.

It's funny how the Touring works and the Berlina doesn't.
It may be down to the proportions; the Touring looks much more composed whereas the high waistline is more pronounced on the saloon.

Just doing a bit of light window shopping for when I get back to Blighty - seriously interested in the Touring and also hankering after an RS4. Be at least a year away so nothing other than internet drooling for either right now but I do love them both!

Last model was cleaner and better looking inside and out.

New model is getting over styled and overpriced.

Hell yes, that’s lovely. I like the green but would prefer the more traditional chrome grille surround and a smattering of satin chrome elsewhere to lift it a bit more.
Really?

Evo saying this uses the single turbo B58 Pistonheads saying the new twin turbo S58. Who’s correct?
Would be surprised M division letting the S58 be dropped into this; they haven’t previously let Alpina or ACS use their M engines. I guess things change though.

It's the S58 same bore and stroke see the press release for details:
