An incredibly well placed product by VW - get the lease price right and front doors will be being smashed down all over the country to get the keys to these.

Another bland box on stilts. At least it’s not convertible, that really be the car for those that plan toilet breaks.

Loaded with options probably not much less than a Macan, which are still awful, but at least has a badge you can talk about smile
A Macan is going to be around 25% more than a T-Roc R with similar specifications, as well as being 50bhp down.

And significantly heavier, no?

Not knocking the Macan; the one I tried was fine, but the comparison isn't straightforward. The Macan is also a lot bigger which may be a factor one way or t'other.

But the T-Roc (yeah) is a nasty VAG box which will have st residual value. Swings and roundabouts.

What do you think the Macan is?

Isn’t that fairly obvious?

Well, it's technically a nasty VAG box. Will probably have pretty poor residuals, as all non-GT Porsches go through the banger years. (Mk1 Cayennes are worth feck all)

I thought the Macan S was ‘ok’, I’d not buy one as I don’t see the point of a small SUV type thing. But no doubt it’d be better at everything than the T-Roc (sounds like a sex toy) and have better residuals.

That’s all really

The Macan is a lot bigger than the T-Roc, and about 400kg heavier.

That may or may not be a factor depending on what you want in a car.

Surely ppl buying the car aren’t too concerned about dynamics? Surely it’s about space etc etc

If you want something more dynamic then there are plenty of other cars

My point was from a quality point of view I sat in a t-roc yesterday and it just felt cheap from start to finish! Whilst my cars in for service they’ve loaned me a vw sharan which is listed over 40k and it’s rly rly basic and very plasticky, imo you can get far better quality for similar prices!

Yes a macan is heavier but the interior quality is better and better badge

Or it's the right compromise for them - I've never driven one but most of the reviews of the T-Roc suggest it's actually decent to drive. Add a lot of extra "go" and you've got a compact car that doesn't mind potholes and has performance and handling beyond what most people want/need to deploy on the road. For a lot of perfectly rational people that's a pretty good combination.
