Something to really to take to Lotus in terms of driving dynamics... just £20k more starting price than a Exige 410 and 7 people will own one. Great. ??

If I was lucky enough to own one of these, it'd still irk me that for purely marketing reasons they gave it a not-quite-as-good-as-it-could-be engine.
Every time I rev'd it out to 8,000 instead of 9,000 I'd be thinking 'It's good, but it's not the GT3 engine'.

It looked good.

Looks very interesting. I had to strip my MX5 out to get around the same ballpark power to weight as this. I'd just ditch that shocking rear wing mount though. Hopefully it would be possible to put a GT3 wing on instead. Otherwise, what a daily! With a plush Porsche interior too. Yum

I sent a letter of interest to my local Porsche dealer back in 2015, saying I'd like a Cayman GT4 RS if they ever made one. Now, this was a long time ago, so I should be one of the earliest on their list. However, big problem is that I've not since (or ever) bought a Porsche, so I'm assuming my chances are slim. hehe

I stood in my OPC 2 years ago aside my 997.1 GT3 and asked the salesman if I could have an upcoming manual new gen GT3 if/when it comes out......the response from the salesman was " what is your purchase history with us Sir "....... I got my coat.

You probably may as well get yours.......

I'm just finalising my spec now. What options would give me the best return on resale?

This is why my next car is likely to be something like an Ultima. No pissing about with these main dealer games. Besides, I like it raw and basic.

Still, I'm sure it'll be a fun daily for those who buy a new car every six months.

You aren't wrong. I went in to a Porsche dealer about 11 months before the regular fat gt4 was announced and they said no thanks to any deposits. Said they reserve then for their valued customers who might buy 5+cars a year from thm for their friends and family. So you mean car brokers then. Counts

Rear wing - Different for the sake of being different, otherwise a stunning motor. Can't order a Spyder or a normal GT4 so there's no chance with this one!

I contacted Ultima to order an RS. They aren't taking orders for factory built cars.

Yet again (as per the Taycan thread) I'm astounded that people don't realise it's camo! There's big boxy bits of plastic over the actual mounts to hide them....as per the 992 GT3 prototypes.
I've already said that but everyones ignoring it because it doesnt fit the narrative. At least its funny reading people getting mad at how a test mule with camo panels fitted looks.

Well, for that you would have to buy a GT3, not a GT4.
Makes perfect sense to me.
Does the same logic apply if you had a GTI rather than an R, 12C rather than a 675LT etc ?
It’s a different car at a different price point.

Doesn't fitting boxy camp to aero parts, pretty much defeat the object somewhat? (Not saying you're wrong, by the way - just pointing out the daftness of testing at a track, only to compromise the aero)

And if the idea is that it doesn't matter that much...why have the wing mounts in this new 'hanging' way, as opposed to the tried and tested GT lineage?

Can I be the first on this thread to mention the touch subject of sound? The 718 GT4 simply does not sound as good as the 981 GT4, blamed on PF and stuff...so surely this RS version will still be muted and a bit flat? But with looks like that, I'd want the car to sound like a road racer. That would disappoint me a lot more than knowing the engine only revved to 8k instead of 9k.

Slightly off topic, but I've been looking at the Gen 1 GT4s and a few at around 70k mark...

Realistically how much would you have to put down and pay monthly to own one if you didn't have 70k just to throw away in one go?
