I saw a post on FB from a 4x4 off-road place that do week long off road trips in the highlands that had a bunch of bentaygas so must be a few owners who aren’t scared of using them as intended!

Reminds me somewhat of a story I heard about a farmer who went into Ripon Land Rover with a wad of cash to buy a new Defender. When it was pointed out they no longer make them he had a look round and liked the look of the Evoque, so got one of them instead. Then went on to use it in the exact same way he used his Defender, shoving hay bails/dogs/sheep in the back and whatever other abuse he could dish out on it.

After seeing the condition my local Land Rover dealer's courtesy Freelanders got returned in from various farmers I can believe it.

Brilliant photo - that's what a 4 X 4 is built for!

Much better for the owner too than having to travel in the latest Amarok, Ranger, L200, Navarra, etc.

Certainly better than the more usual Transit dropside, anyway.

He must be the big boss man.

Imagine for a moment that you were in the market for a used Bentayga, would you rather put £100k+ into the one that's been driven to the beauty salon once a week or the one that's been used by Paddy to tow a couple of tonne of digger every day and god knows what else?

One of them will have been warmed up fully more often.

Nice to see it being used.

I had a chat with Rolls-Royce about the Cullinan at Goodwood in the summer, I said it would be perfect for going off skiing in the winter so what’s the cost of a roof rack for one? To my surprise they can’t take a roof rack! They won’t be getting my imaginary money!

They did however say that’s been one of the most requested items from owners.

I had a Porsche Panamera pull up next to me on the A1 services the other day pulling a trailer and digger just the same as this.

The bloke that got out was wearing a high-viz vest (no shirt) and was covered in dirt, but he seemed quite happy with himself.

I thought he may be a member of the caravan club but being stood behind him in the queue in the shop, he was on the phone, and had quite a posh accent!

You don't have to tar everyone with the same brush.....

or should that be tarmac??

The wifes cousin - yes he's in tarmac and has a tow bar on the back of his.

If you're struggling to think of a Christmas present for him this year perhaps some SPF50 would be an idea. eek

To be fair if you were in the business of stealing industrial equipment can’t think of a better car for escaping at speed with a trailer. It’s got enough poke.

It’s good to see one being used.
