Very nice from a drivers point of you, but for sitting in the back the S class looks like a shanty in comparison.

The rear seats on the link you showed are rubbish, I wouldn't put my dog in those before the dog walk.

The rear seats on the Maybach are epic in comparison. It's like flying Singapore first class rather than your Ryanair attempt. tongue out

German tongue in cheek here. smile

A car to be driven in (and what a place to be) not drive. Other than a wedding taxi I cant think of a single reason to buy it. How on earth could you make this work as a private purchase?

Even then you have 6.5ltr v12 AMG bi Turbo fuel costs to consider too.

In a slightly silly moment I could imagine a camper conversion in the rear, it's big enough and could be perfect for a weekends camping at Motorsport events.

Wasn't familiar with that but I'm thinking slightly less rapey, more inspired by my old Peugeot Partner camping car conversion I made.

Serious cojones required for this one, a very brave pill indeed.

Running costs associated with a £300k car, and despite it looking a lot like an S Class almost every single part is bespoke to the Maybach.

Take a similar age S600 over this for half the money, or for the same £40k a 2016 S500.

Doesn’t the maybach have the 6.5v12 bi Turbo? If so Brabus can make some significant upgrades to the motor which may make it more appealing
A 900hp Brabus upgrade would certainly give it a bit of pep.

Simultaneously awful and fantastic cars.

You’d be an absolute legend if you had one of these as your daily family car. I’d guess that the boot is huge, the kids would love it in the back (as said above, would be even better with the screen closed so you can’t hear them twist on), and would be great to sneak off for a power nap in the back. Possibly as much room as a camper van too.

Apart from it probably doing about 4mpg, not being able to park it anywhere and needing to re-mortgage for every service, I don’t see a downside.

How many spark plugs do the V12 bi turbos have?
I remember seeing the Merc cost to change the spark plugs on an E55k over £800 Jesus.

I've had to revisit this thread to catch up on the comments. How about 40 grand 5 ways at £8K each and you've got a very good fractional ownership model, any takers? It's looking good in that respect.

The funny thing is that this being so pig ugly it is actually getting cooler as years go on, like that Japanese Crown for the crown....

If you want to go mad, go mad, no point pissing about with a VW Phaeton for 1/3 the cost when you want to go bananas.

Wait a couple of years until the electrics start failing, the engine needs a fettle and rust is starting to show. The ultimate shed.
