60k miles? Who believes that?
The barracks I worked at for 10 years most of the rolling stock just sat outside hardly ever used, untill it was due It’s 6 ,12 or 24 monthly inspections and maintenance so yes I can see it only having done those miles
And wolf stands for wheel on left flank for anyone interested that didn’t already no
Spent many an hour digging them out of holes on Salisbury plain after they have burned out the clutch trying to get it out, one particular landi had only just had a new clutch fitted the day before, also replaced many bits of dash pad and steering wheel and seats that bored soldiers have stabbed cut chopped up whilst sitting in them for hours bored

Hate to burst your bubble if you are being serious but it doesn’t mean that at all. All LR projects were named after animals - Eagle, Falcon, Jay (the bird was Discovery) Kestrel etc etc and Wolf was the project name in 1991/2 for the vehicle to meet the new Military Defender contract. Brightwells sell these off regularly. Some are very low mileage from reserve stocks, or likely Cyprus. They usually sell for less than half of the asking price of this one:

They have a poor online catalogue so I can't link to individual vehicles. Search for 'Wolf', there are 3 today. Been through more than once I expect.

he off roads in an SJ410 and laughs at these.
SJ's are great, very small and nimble. But they really do rust to buggery. And require quite a few mods to match a Land Rover off road. The ride in them also makes a Defender seem Rolls Royce like in comparison.Anyone laughing at a Defender who is an avid off roader is just being daft or a fanboy of another brand.
To be fair, the wolf we used in an undisclosed location in Iraq had a hard life but never missed a beat. Used it to tow Pumas, then loaded up with as many blokes as possible for daily runs to the American PX or dfac(dining facility). All over the space of about 5 years. It hardly got maintained due to no MT. I think it was abandoned out there after we withdrew.

'The first Land Rover came in the aftermath of a World War so its simplicity, versatility and toughness were designed to help rebuild Britain – primarily by helping to feed the population as a workhorse on the farms'.
Not true at all, the first Land Rover was designed and built for the overseas markets, hence being a utility vehicle with 4 wheel drive. The vast majority went to developing countries, largely in the former British Empire.
Actually I think the original vision was a road going tractor. Not dissimilar in concept to the slightly earlier and older AgriJeep. And also why the original prototype had the steering wheel in the middle. Not true at all, the first Land Rover was designed and built for the overseas markets, hence being a utility vehicle with 4 wheel drive. If people are willing to pay that sort of money, I'm not going to complain as it'll help maintain the (perceived) value of mine.

Had a brand new one of these as a ‘company car’ when serving with an RAF Regiment Rapier Squadron in Germany. The Wolf certainly went like the clappers and could hold its own when running convoys across Germany or to the Outer Hebrides. I have fond memories of it and remember seeing an ‘indicated’ ton on the Autobahn.....with a trailer in tow!

if you want a solid example to upgrade they are one of the best ways, HD chassis, hd axles.
seats, wheels, paint all cheap in comparison.
The HD bits aren't really all that more substantial. The axle innards won't make it any less likely to break, just the casing is gusseted.seats, wheels, paint all cheap in comparison.

I'd paint it yellow, put in a V8 and try to make one of those soft top 90s that they sold briefly in the US.
Chap over the road had one of those back in the 90s. I cycled past it every day on my paper round and thought it was one of the coolest things I'd ever laid eyes on. His other car was one of those facelifted 820 Vitesses iirc. He was living the dream!
