RE: Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato first look
Discussion
As a fan of anything DB9-ish and before - and select models afterwards - this looks well overdone and over styled.
Andy Palmer - I’m sure you don’t personally read these postings, but if you do, how can someone who drives and appreciates a V8 vantage (the old one), come up with the current model range? Maybe in your mind you thought that minus a few middle eastern fans in the 70s and 80s Aston would be completely a goner- but now, do the targeted clientele buy them? The PlayStation generation? Does the share price support the current strategic direction?
Look, it’s simple. Make achingly beautiful cars. Give them a decent interior - not the tat in the DB11 but a more contemporary pivot on the new Bentley conti, for example. Make them handle - not best in class, but up there.
And don’t screw it up by a) overstyling, b) putting anything neon on it, c) giving it a crap interior.
And then you’ll have a world-beating car company on your hands.

I have to echo the comments I've seen already - that is just disgusting. I bloody love the DBS SL as well - genuinely one of my first 'lottery' buys for my everyday usable section of the garage.
I cannot help but feel that someone high up at Aston saw what Zagato were about to produce and thought, st - the only way we will sell those is if we FORCE people to take one as part of a deal for something else. I know - that 'new' DB4 is gonna be priced at £5.5m...lets up that to £6m and then lie about the 'split'".
If I was in a position to be ordering that combo, I'd quite enjoy turning up to collect my DB4Z...then leaving without the DBSZ. Donate that sucker to charity.

Utterly hideous - Have a couple of older AM and AM seems to have really lost their way recently. What is this the Spearmint Rhino addition? Absolutely tasteless.
Aston Martin need to get to find a thesaurus out soon to distinguish between Timeless Elegance
and
Vulgar modernity
Need to sort out the interior and exterior of their bread and butter car before this.
