Just seen my first new M135i in the metal this afternoon. I wasn't that keen on the front end and the grill, but I did quite like it from the rear though.
The brakes looked nice and beefy which is good to see, and I still have flash backs of when BMW didn't used to bother fitting good brakes from when I had my Z4M/E92 M3!
Definitely it's best angle. As it generally means it's driving off into the distance hopefully to never be seen again.The brakes looked nice and beefy which is good to see, and I still have flash backs of when BMW didn't used to bother fitting good brakes from when I had my Z4M/E92 M3!

Indeed. I think some people adapt M4 brake pads to fit?
The biggest constraint i've found with the M140i relative to making very rapid progress is the handling. If i was making any upgrades it would be in that area first. I'm fitting the rear lower anti roll bar from the early M135is next month which apparently help noticably, but i dont forsee us doing anything else until its outside of warranty.
The underbody brave from the three door is supposed to be a worthwhile improvement for £155. The biggest constraint i've found with the M140i relative to making very rapid progress is the handling. Definitely seems to be a worthwhile upgrade at a relatively low cost
I'm confused (I say this in the passive aggressive way people say when they are not confused,merely pointing out the ludicrous...) How is a 135 got a less than two litre engine?
1 = Series, 35 = engine size, so should be 3.5 litre...
No one, I repeat NO ONE from BMW has called me to explain the naming protocol has changed. Or at least asked if I mind...

Yeah, it’s almost a no brainier for £155 delivered from Cotswold. Seems relatively easy to fit too.Definitely seems to be a worthwhile upgrade at a relatively low cost

Imagine how disappointed i was when i found out our 140i wasnt a four litre. 1 = Series, 35 = engine size, so should be 3.5 litre...

I had that with the 640d and I wanted to know where the rest of the engine had gone!!
Misbadging cars is starting to annoying me now across all the Germans brands. I like to try and know my stuff when it comes to engine sizes, but I haven't a clue nowadays and I just can't keep up!

Old codgers with diminishing brain cells may be asking how on earth an ‘A35’ - as named in this article - could be considered competitive ...thinking of chubby but characterful little Austins with wheezy single carburettor (Younger readers google that word) 1 litre A series lump and notch 4 speed gearbox...
