I had a blue one of these from new, great fun on the twisty Yorkshire Dales roads.
Got rid of it because the doors used to fill up with water when it rained and I didn’t really get on with the high driving position.
Door drains just needed a poke with a stick. Ours was like that when it was given to us. Got rid of it because the doors used to fill up with water when it rained and I didn’t really get on with the high driving position.

I know near-nothing about Fiestas, but Wikipedia suggests that the top picture is a 4th gen model, whilst the bottom one is a 5th gen. Bit of double-counting of a facelift in the UK market somewhere along the way?mrpenks said:
Why do Fords grow in desirability as they age?

It's the type of car I'd have wanted as a first car when I was 18
Ford means a lot to a wide range of people, and people want to relive their youth! More people understand what a Fiesta ST is than (say) a Suzuki Ignis Sport.I totally understand the desirability of a Sierra Cosworth or Escort RS2000, but the prices being asked for even mediocre Fast Fords from the 1990s are crazy these days.
This car looks like a very clean example. For £1500, who cares if there's a bit of deferred maintenance to catch up on? It's only a Ford, and parts will be cheap. Get the seller to MOT it as part of the sale, and crack on.
For the love of jehovah, please don't tell me this place is becoming one of them forums, where absolute morons can't help themselves from rabidly thumping at their keyboards 'first comment', just so they can tell everyone they have made the 'first comment'??? Seriously?? Surely there has to be some legal basis here to just shoot this imbeciles and remove them from society???
(Is the shooting thing a bit much??)

The old "only has two months MOT left but passed last year fine and has only done about 1000 miles since", normally code for knowing it needs something expensive to pass next time and needing to get rid of it quick!
Not necessarily. I have a Twingo 133 RS that will probably cover 1000 / 2000 miles over the 12 month MOT period. Nothing wrong with it, it's just I have 2 other cars that get used more. Some cars (other that exotic) get lightly used each year.

Agree low mileage should not be a red flag, but if you were selling your Twingo, you'd get a fresh MOT done, right?
Agreed, or at the very least offer to put it through if offered the full asking price. Selling a 14.5 year old car with 1.5 months of MOT really does, rightly or wrongly, wave big red flags.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
