Why the hell is this even an article? Should we expect a PH article every time a manufacturer starts selling bloody travel mugs, now?

Maybe because PH are desperate to be at the front of the queue when the production DBX is given to the press ?

No dirty shagger pack for 55 year old businessmen wanting to tap 20 year olds?

Aston Martin (or should I "Gaydon") are losing the plot. What on earth is this tat they're desperately trying to spin off.

The Aston Martin Accessories I have seen (i.e. custom luggage etc) have always been exquisitely crafted - but - verging on too good to use.

I frankly don't object to this - if it sells and makes margin for AM then I am a big supporter.

At the end of the day - anything that the car manufacturers who manufacture/assemble cars in the UK do to make money and preserve manufacturing jobs in the UK I am fully supportive of.

I genuinely hope the DBX is a roaring success for AM as they seem to be storing a lot of faith in it, 12% and 15% finance costs are in junk bond territory. Hope it's not the last throw of the dice for them.

Launching a heavy and eye watering expensive suv into a global downturn and with global warming being a growing issue. I can’t help but fee Aston is 5 years to late to this party...

So it’s basically a Merc GLC 63 with a nicer interior and matching luggage.... I would imagine the 3 litre diesel version will be the biggest seller for Aston

I think they will sell by the bucket load - look at RR/RRS, despite being over 7 years old they are still growing sales and top sellers at JLR, same for Bentayga etc. Market wants them and they will sell. The opinions on PH barely, if at all, are an indicator of the global market - normally some blokes opinion based on what he sees ‘out and about’ in Market Harborough!

It’s like they published what competition winners would select.

Very happy to be proved wrong but I cant help thinking that with the pace of change within the industry and rapidly changing public attitudes a 550hp V8 SUV might not prove to be the golden goose that Aston needs in 2019. No mention of future powertrains but least you can have one with 'branded valve caps'. rolleyes
I agree and would add that there are an awful lot of upmarket SUVs chasing buyers.

I simply don’t think there are enough people to go round and Aston may well find they are a bit too late to the party.

I'll reserve final judgement on looks until I see photos without the camouflage, but so far it's not looking positive.

At least it's not going to be an ugly carbuncle...oh.

Well, at least the firm aren't gambling their existence on this one model...oh.

Well, at least the company that produced the leather for these handbags got some business.

Not sure that the launch of some luggage and car accessories is really PH-worthy news, is it?

On a related topic - is there a more generic-looking type of car than the mid-large SUV? I appreciate the look of the vehicle is determined by the demands of space, utility, safety legislation etc but to my eyes each model from every brand looks pretty much indistinguishable aside from the shape of the side windows and grille. I'm aware this is the sort of comment that old people make.

Hmmmm......all sounds a bit desperate.

But I'm sure the Gastro Pub aspirational types will love it. You can picture it now "Bartender, do you mind if I leave my ASTON MARTIN handbag behind the bar? laugh

No better way to say "fk you" to the Joneses next door than by having an Aston on your driveway. It's a big market for which Aston are clearly targeting, but it's a saturated one too.

When I was young only the super rich could afford an Aston, and now, with cheap finance and cheap prices (comparative to times gone by) any relatively successful person can have a new Aston.
The bitterness is palpable. You must be a Jones. Thankfully they're quite rare in reality.

Do they have a “Don’t make the front end look like a Fiesta” pack?

The Cayenne may have helped to save Porsche, but we are in a different place now and I don’t see an SUV that really seems to offer nothing new is going to sort AM finances out. Which is a shame.

Whenever I see people post about how 'cheap' these vehicles are these days, I always wonder if I am somehow missing out on owning my own Aston Martin. Like these posters know something I don't. If they are so cheap...where's mine?
