Out of interest..... how big a dog are you fitting in a T-Roc?
Size of a deer hound - over 7 1/2 stone. He sits in the T-Roc with 4" headroom to spare (due to the reversible floor). He has loads of floorspace in the Jag, but has to lie down!

Having seen loads of T-Rocs in the flesh on the continent last week, and having owned a 7.5 (pre-WLTP) 310 R Estate (there you go!) I don't want one.

Being PH, people who have never driven one will now tell us how boring it is, those who aren't looking to buy a car in this sector at all will tell us it's overpriced, and people who can't afford one will tell us it's for PCP chavs.

Oh, and people who don't know anything about crime statistics will tell us we'd be killed in our beds for it.

Did I miss anything?
It'll probably be driven exclusively by complete bell ends.

I wonder if they will be stolen and ragged around Manchester like the Golfs are? Cannot imagine any self respecting car thief being seen in one.

432mm front discs? Surely this is a typo??

17" brake discs on a T-Roc? confused
I think it must be a mistake. Andrew Chapple (Volkswizard) filmed one at the Frankfurt motor show and it had what looked like the normal sized Golf GTI Performance/R front discs (see here at 11:06)

The difference seems to be that they are two piece, with an aluminium bell like the Clubsport S, just without the holes in the disc.

quality matters

We will have one in a few years. My Mrs loves her 2.0 TSI one. I would imagine the 110 extra horses are nice.
I will stick to my 400 horse Golf R though as it’s everything I need

You could probably get away with having a smaller car to carry it in if one of it's back legs wasn't a sofa?

You’d have to be a monumental imbecile to buy this over a Golf R (either hatch or estate). £38k for what is essentially a jumped up Polo, meaning an interior full of sub-standard plastics, a car that isn’t anywhere near as refined as a Golf, and looks stupid too.
You would probably have to be a monumental imbecile to throw insults around whilst failing to get the basic facts to which you have based the opinion on correct I would have thought.
I am quite aware it’s based on the Golf platform, but it has the Polo interior - that’s what I was referring to, and would be the car you would “feel” you were sitting in. I stand by my point of spending £38k on such a thing is plain daft.

Oh yeah, you are absolutely spot on!

Is it a Polo or is it a T-Roc?

Is it a T-Roc or is it a Polo?

Just no way of telling as they have clearly used exactly same interior for both.

I have no idea which is which without checking, but my spidey senses say the one with the vents either side of the Nav screen is the T-Roc apeing the Cayenne design and the top one is the Polo, I actually prefer the top one.

I’m sure you were diddled with that dog, he’s ace but no way was he a doodle mixture unless it was via some random size morphing apparatus laugh

I have the polar opposite, the world smallest Golden retriever biggrin the head is to scale but the body is 3/4 size.

Ha. Grandad was a Standard Poodle, and as you know they are HUGE. We do however refer to him as a Labrahorse smile

I currently own an estate and would happily have another, unfortunately I think the A6 is a bit long for my driveway- my 3 series touring is borderline as it is. Great effort on the River Shannon! I mainly am out around the Jurassic Coast.
In all honesty, to drive (and also purely for parking and general convenience!!), I'd much rather have an A4 Avant (with the same engine and quattro obviously! Haha!). But the A6 literally is a workhorse, where granted at weekends, it may be towing or carrying toys and fun stuff - the other 5 days of the week it's loaded to the gills with tripods, jibs, dolly and tracks and various other camera related cr@p, so I have to sacrifice the more positive driving aspects of a car size down, solely for it's functional advantage.

As for The Shannon - I did it for charity (and will never do it again..... for charity that is: the stress was just WAY too much!). Google 'The Shannon 300' and it should come up top on my FB and YT channels, though I've literally just finished editing the 7th and final day video yesterday, and have all 7 days on a playlist on the YT channel. My intention was to do it in 5, but the weather - and Hurricane Lorenzo - decided that would be too easy, so unfortunately had to push it out to 7 at the end. Still, it was an adventure I'l remember for the rest of my life, and even though the Dagger was actually originally sponsored for the trip - I loved it so much, I bought it from the sponsor! Haha!

Having sat in a T-Roc in a dealer, the interior is cheap in a way not seen since the Mark 2 Golf - from the Mark 3 onward all have had a soft moulded dashboard. The T-Roc has a cheaply finished hard plastic dash - and while does it really make a difference, I wouldn’t spend £40k on one - it looks and feels nasty.

I agree with those saying it isn't worth it. I wouldn't pay a penny over £9k for one.

Who wants such a nasty dash? It would be better sitting in a cell at Belmarsh.

I sounds like it may be similar to the Amarok I had in that respect then. Don't get me wrong it was a brilliant car for for its intended purpose, works vehicle, and the interior seemed well put together even though some of the materials didn't feel especially premium. I really don't doubt that the T-Roc's interior may not be of the quality to justify a certain price point. I do however refute that it is a wholesale carry over from the Polo as suggested.
