I’ve just switched mine to PS4s after slithering around on worn Cup 2s for the first half of October (I live in Scotland). Has brought the car back to life, truly a brilliant all weather tyre, absolutely the best choice for the next 5/6 months

I drove the car Thurso to Preston on the first day of the Scottish half term. Horrendous journey with standing water in a few places and all of Scotland heading South! Cheers
Whisky I find the price of the Renault hard to swallow even at £51k I’m glad that they’re still making cars like this and not just jumping to EV’s etc. By Tuesday sounds of it, it’s a hell of a thing.
These fast, stripped back specials have always been misunderstood when they were first released.
Personally I’d have the Renault if money was no issue over the Golf because it’s a bit more extreme, rare and I think in the flesh this era is RS Megane look pretty damn good.

Sorry you can't compare at all. What do Sierra Cosworths go for these days? And they are fun..
And yes I would pay £72k for a Mégane.
It’s easy to say on a forum you would pay £72k for one, reality is you would buy something else 2nd hand in real life where real people live :-)And yes I would pay £72k for a Mégane.
And as we have owned all the same cars until you did a daft thing with that macca, I thought your car Choices were sound :-)

We can bang on about new Vs used till the end of time but where do the comparisons end? For £70k I would probably go for a 996GT3 with some tweaks or a 964. Or a modded 105. Or an Elan Sprint with change. Or an E30 etc.
And yes bad move on the F1 - sold it a bit early.

There is just one £72k car so it's not really a point worth talking about. They have found a buyer at that price so it was obviously priced correctly, irrespective of what anyone thinks.

Ah bless. Did you mean knowledgable? Learn to type you feckwit.
Maybe you should take your own advice and learn how to spell Megane, it’s right in the title there Bob. Now toddle off back to some PCP thread where your valuable input is just as useful Also, there’s never been a 1.2 diesel in a clio, so 2 strikes there fella!

And Bob, think you should use a capital for that 'X' and learn some basic punctuation too. I will refrain from throwing abuse like you tend to do but you get the idea.
Lol indeed.

Clearly the only gentlemanly way to resolve this speculative bickering is for Dan (sorry Dan) to pitch his shiny new A110 against a Trophy R preferably in and around Nürburg. This would make a splendid feature for the following reasons and many more:
1. Both are 50 Grand and no one is complaining about the 50 Grandness (adverb) of an Alpine.
2. Both are two seaters out of Dieppe and underdogs to the ruling German hierarchy.
3. It would allow this thread to deepen and continue as it has been my favourite debate for some time.
4. Bob would get to read some grown up impersonal critical commentary.
5. The last TF of 2019 at the beginning of November is an evocative and seasonally challenging time for both cars on their respective rubber which may make for some ever so pretty pictures..........

I think for the money you bought a Macca 12c as an example. 2nd hand vs new is a debate for sure, but a buyer can choose either as we all do.We can bang on about new Vs used till the end of time but where do the comparisons end? I had a 996 GT3 over rated as a road car, but be a great track tool, just costs ££££ to look after as they are a bit old now, so you can buy a lemon very easy.
I think you should buy a manual 991.2 GT3 if yu loved the GT4 it would blow you away.
