If you HAD to own 3 Vauxhalls
Discussion
I remember the OP being on VX220.org when I was, so one of the choices is simple.
VX220 Turbo
Monaro
Ampera - for work duties
I have very fond memories of having use of the office pool car (Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0i GLS) when I worked in Manchester in the early 90's. Mike Bishop, if you are still out there, the extensive suspension repairs were nothing to do with the terrible company car park surface and quite a lot to do with me launching it off the back of a humped back bridge at just the wrong side of the NSL on the way to Dent station one crisp spring morning and doing at least 15m airborne.....

Ignoring the no brainer Lotus and Holden options and going just for Vauxhalls, then it isn't that easy!
I would have to have something 80s and barge like: either the Senator 3.0 24v or I do think the Carlton estate still looks cool - They did a burgundy high spec special edition ('Diamond'?)
So then probably an Astra GTE 16v, and er, a Bedford Astramax for retro tip runs!
Definitely not a Cavalier convertible anyway!

Lotus Carlton (GSi 3000 if that isn't allowed)
VX220
And something prewar. I really rather like the look of this

There were more on the shortlist than I thought!

Black Cavalier SRi, earlier style with Recaros, Pioneer stereo and Rostyle wheels (I think they were Rostyle).
Nova GTE for chuckability
Bedford Rascal, with a remap.
What are you remapping on the Rascal, the radio? (If it had one fitted) Nova GTE for chuckability
Bedford Rascal, with a remap.

I believe it's sold, but there's another one on the DSG forum and Facebook page: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/droopsnootgroup/sp...The ebay one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-SPORTS-HATCH-D...

RS2000 nose come was altogether more of a looker.
Well, he'd had a bit of practice by then. The first few prototype nosecones for the Firenza don't look as good as the final one, though some of the design ideas looked much better but were rejected as being too costly - the version commonly referred to as "Daytona" looked particularly nice, but would have needed new wings and a new bonnet, and there was no money for it. By the time he got to Ford to consult on the RS2000, he* could correct the things that hadn't gone so well on the Vauxhall one.( * You're probably going to ask "who?", and I can't remember. Worked at Vauxhall on the HP Firenza project, then consulted for Ford while the RS2000 was being developed. )

Not all Vauxhall’s are awful you know, most of the range is for granted yes, but I currently have a insignia grand sport As a company car, I can’t fault it, refined, punchy enough, loads of kit, very soft ride, been totally reliable and I think pretty good looking, especially against the mess of the current 3 series. As good as a mondeo I think.

, a Bedford Astramax for retro tip runs!
The battered Astramax, ton up on the motorway, with the obligatory go-faster ladders flapping up and down on the roof was one of the most amusing and memorable frequent motoring sights of the 80s and 90s.The Sprinter took over for a while, but it wasn't the same somehow
That's weird on both counts, when I bring up that eBay page I get "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available. ". The DSG forum page opens for me, but then I'm logged in to it. It's not in a members-only area, though. It only links to a posting on the DSG Facebook page, anyway.
