Better according to tests. I had a look but the absence of a reversing camera, when the other half's Suzuki Ignis has one, is unforgivable.

I should also add this as nobody has mentioned it - Vauxhall's version of the Opel Monza, the Royale, albeit the Monza was marginally better looking at the nose end. 2.8 or 3.0.

And if Opel is cheating, remember there was always the Vauxhall Cavalier Coupe

Ignoring the prejudices of the OP, if I had the opportunity, nay privilege to have any three Vauxhalls that I want...

VXR8 estate (one of one) for daily duties.
Maloo for tip runs etc.
Churchill tank. Because tank.

I hope that by Vauxhall you're including Opel? In which case:

Opel Commodore II Coupe GS/E
Opel Kadett C Coupe
Opel Manta Coupe GT/E

, a Bedford Astramax for retro tip runs!
The battered Astramax, ton up on the motorway, with the obligatory go-faster ladders flapping up and down on the roof was one of the most amusing and memorable frequent motoring sights of the 80s and 90s.

The Sprinter took over for a while, but it wasn't the same somehow smile
You're not wrong, those Astramax's were rapid wink

(Astramax turns up at 1:50ish)

Number 65... The exact Vauxhall I'd most love to own. By an awful long way. cloud9bow

washer jets
One of the fails on mine was for the washer jets not providing enough water or whatever the term is they use on the computer.

I'd tested them on my way to the centre. The pump was somewhat dependent on the engine having enough revs to give the alternator enough power to get it going, and then you needed the wind to push the stream directly onto the screen, rather than just going up and over when it was stationary.

1) Mk2 Astra GTE 16v, my dad had one for 10 years and was the car that stemmed my passion for all things motoring and holds a huge amount of sentimental value. It would be in my dream 3 car gatate, never mind 3 Vauxhall.

2) Omega Estate 3.2 V6 Elite because I've got a huge soft spot for them, especially in Krypton Green.

3) A V6 Calibra because I love the shape and always loved them as a kid.

I would have any 80s or early 90s Vauxhall in there though without a moment's hesitation.

I’d probably kill myself.

Although I’d make an exception for a Holden HJ/Z/Q ute with 5.0 engine.

Ignoring the no brainer Lotus and Holden options and going just for Vauxhalls, then it isn't that easy!

I would have to have something 80s and barge like: either the Senator 3.0 24v or I do think the Carlton estate still looks cool - They did a burgundy high spec special edition ('Diamond'?)

So then probably an Astra GTE 16v, and er, a Bedford Astramax for retro tip runs!

Definitely not a Cavalier convertible anyway!
Still pretty easy:

Chevette HSR (or just a chevette hatch) the thinking man's Mk2 Escort
Calibra V6 - very practical, good looking coupe
Astra GTE Mk1 or Mk2 16v - I had a few Mk2 16v and they were very competent and quick for their time
Carlton 24v GSi - great sporting barge

It only gets hard if you want something made recently - I didn't like the VX220 either.

Close, but strictly speaking the proper versions of those cars are Holden Special Vehicles and have more in common with a Corvette than any Vauxhall.
If you're saying that, then the VX220 is an Elise wink Strictly speaking the only Vauxhall part of the VX220 is the engine, and if that makes it a Vauxhall then the first Elise was a Rover and the current one a Toyota! Which they aren't, of course.

Astra arctic limited edition.

A friend has one of these from new, mint condition VERY low mileage, I suspect it will be worth serious money in a few years.

Nah, completely worthless, all of these had terrible paintwork when they left the factory don't you know, overspray behind panels, inconsistent paint thickness on the door shuts..
