They were the wheels for the XJR100 edition, polished rims with an oyster gold centre. They look awful in grey.

They seem to be selling well and are very stiking in person, there is a "you haven't had enough to drink piss yellow" colour that I particularly like, makes a lovely change from the usual 50 shades of grey options. They appear to be a very large car?

Those wheels could be factory fit, but I would've expected the bigger brakes which were available as an option from the technical update which was I think for late-1999. Also the wrong colour as noted, they should just be gold iirc.

It does look reasonable, although the MOT history would suggest it's fizzing away a bit underneath. Lovely colours though.

I can't upload the picture but it's a green S124. Pricey vee-hickle, but there's a wonderful driveway, a thread-garage, and anyone that describes himself as Mr Muirhead has to be a decent sort; none of that presumptious familiarity for that seller and I rather like it.

Could be worth a quick Google of Mr Muirhead's phone number - looks like he's a dealer. Whilst there's nothing wrong with that in itself, the advert presents as a private seller which would make me ask some more questions.

The car looks lovely though - I do like a pre-facelift W124 with the later engine. I almost wish I hadn't recently spent a similar amount just on the rear suspension and "some welding" on my own E320.

I thought the drive cobbles looked familiar!

Talking of drives, and Harry’s query, I’ve specified it a couple of times. It massively relies on good workmanship, far more than say macadam, and if they don’t get it right there’s no rectifying it. In the right hands it’s good stuff, but see examples of their work first.

The 3.2 is neither powerful or economical, and is a mite too low geared for restful cruising, but it's smooth enough and picks it's feet up very nicely with a few revs. Clockwork reliability of the AJ16 is a bonus.

Also, maybe a little tenuous, but the plate may suit a certain Mercedes loving threadist amongst us?

Is the tax quite high on that? Was looking fairly steep to me on a 1.5 TSI or 2.0 TDi!
